Orangutans only have one baby at a time. Female orangutans give birth about once every eight years. Infants stay with their mother for six to seven years, until they've learnt the necessary skills to survive on their own. During this time, a very special bond is formed between the mother and child.

Sometimes I wonder how endangered animals feel, roaming this big spacious world full of all sorts of creatures and life, but being unable to find more than a handfull relatives.
Do they feel alone? Do they admire the progressing life around them, as their own fades away, forgotten in time? Do they wander in search for hope?
Often times, there are ways we could help them grow and flourish, but sadly, sometimes there's little or nothing we can do to save them from extinction. Even nature can be unforgiving at times. Not all endangered species are caused by man.
On a topic more rellivent to the painting: I love those eyes. You did a great job there.
