Only, when he tried doing so, he felt a sickening throb in his chest. He was able to get onto his knees, but was forced to steddy himself with his hand on the forest floor. He put his other hand to his chest, only to feel somthing warm and wet. He took his paw away and looked at the red substance coating his claws. Suddenly, it hit him. He remembered what had just happened. With the adrenelin now pumping through his vains, the pain was masked somewhat.
He forced himself to his feet, and started leaned onto the nearest tree.
He could hear paniced voices in the distence, and could tell they were from Jell. 'What about Nyra?' He thought.
He made his way as quickly as he could toward the tree line, almost tripping over twigs and underbrush in his path. Eventually, he made it to the edje of the tree line, and saw what was happening in the distence. "Jell. Nyra." He said quietly, as his eye opened wider in shock. Nyra was hanging off the edje of a cliff, with Jell doing her best to hang on.

"No. Never..." He ran forward on all fours toward Jell and Nyra. Ignoring the pain that ploomed in his chest and his right eye. "...Again!" At the sound of his voice, the shadow beasts turned around, but so did Jell. And in that second of hesitation, Jell's grip on Nyra's hand loosed, right up to the point of slipping...
