#2: Lucario by Time Paladin

It's clear to anyone who's seen my gallery that Lucario is one of my favorite characters. I can say confidently that I've drawn him more than any character during my time on Colors. It all started with Lucario & the Mystery of Mew where he immediately became my favorite Pokémon because he was a well developed character for the series and had a very touching story. My fondness of the Aura Pokémon grew over the years as I made him a part of my team throughout the various games that followed his debut. I also relate to some of his Pokédex entries that talk about how he and Riolu sense the emotions of other living creatures.
I think the thing that really cemented him as one of my favorite characters was, funny enough, the various drawings and comics I've done of him on Colors. Somewhat similar to the Tactician, I felt like I had a lot of input on the personality of my Lucario from the games, even though it's completely different from the one in the movie. Yeah, it seems kinda silly that I basically have characters on this list because of the influences I had on them, but sometimes I do think the way we interpret characters is just as important as how they're presented to us. In every portrayal, Lucario to me is a great partner that I'd want by my side.

I guess some of you were expecting Lucario to take the number 1 spot. ^-^" Don't worry, I still like Lucario as much as, if not more than I did when I made the previous list, but after really thinking about it, there's one character that has surpassed him in that time.

So, my original concept for this was to have Lucario fend off an assortment of rouge Pokemon, but in the end, I couldn't get it the work the way I wanted. You can see my last attempt by watching the replay or downloading the image and messing around with the layers. : )

Nice picture!
I've never really known Lucario as an actual character. I've only known him as a playable fighter on Smash Bros and a catchable Pokemon on... well... Pokemon.

Yeah, I feel like the version from the movie is well established character that I really like, and I still credit that version as the main reason I still like Lucario. However, I realized it was around the time I started doing more stuff on Colors that I started liking him even more than I did before (I think my favorite characters before that were Sephiroth, Toothless, and Scott Pilgrim).

I was expecting him to be first, because I can't think of any other character surpassing him! Tactician is past, Lucario is past, obviously no other FE or Pokemon can be the top, nor SW, so I'm at a lost, WHO IS FIRST?!

And I totally get what you mean about personal involvement of a character.

Awesome! Lucario is a really cool Pokemon, and not just in design. But since Lucario isn't your number one and e was last year, I'm so wanting to see who the new number 1 is! ^ ^ I just wanna say though this has been a very entertaining series of paintings Time Paladin, I had no idea what to expect. I even learned about some characters I'd never even heard of before.

Plus these kind of lists are always really interesting to see. I don't think I could do one, maybe per franchise but all time would be hard.

Wow! Not the "number one", huh? It does make sense that Lucario's near the top of your list though. I wonder who number one is? /: D
