Briar was on her way to the medical tent, she had been assigned to care for a soldier who had fallen ill. She reached the medical tent and peered inside before entering. Upon doing so she spotted Chase. His face was slightly flushed and his hair was more disheveled than usual. She sighed and rolled her eyes and walked over to him. "Gods, of all people it just had to be you, didn't it?" She said with a harsh tone, though it was slightly teasing at the same time.
Chase felt weary, his fever rising and lowering over the time he spent in the tent. Hearing a female voice he looked over. "B-briar. I-I guess so..? What did I do this time..?" He put his hand on the bandaged part of his arm and tried not to show his pain to her. Chase felt it best not to bother her with his problems. "Was there something you needed?" He asked.
Briar grabbed a washcloth and the bucket of water that had been beside his bed as she sat down on a stood. She soaked the cloth in the cold water and drained the water from it by twisting. "I'm assigned to take care of you, okay?" She said, a bit snappy. "How did this happen?" She inquired. "Were you not eating enough? Did you get enough sleep? Did something happen in training? Did you overwork yourself?" She bombarded the wyvern rider with numerous questions like a concerned Mother.
He looked up at her. "So you're my doctor huh?" he said with a small laugh then coughed a little. "I just worked a little too hard in my last fight. There's no need to worry. I'll be fine soon...., though I thought you hated me?" He rolled over and reached for a glass of water.
The troubadour reached for the glass of water before he did and handed it to him. "Of course you did" she sighed. She was baffled by Chase's sudden statement. "Don't get the wrong idea or anything..." She started off, her tone of voice slightly colder than she intended it to be. "You're a fellow soldier, it's my job to take care of the soldiers when they're in this kind of state. That's what healers are for. You don't expect me to not do my job simply because I don't like someone? I'm not childish." She said accusingly.
"Heh, of course I did huh?" Chase sighed. "I see I see, well im fine now. Thank you." He sipped the water that Briar handed him. Looking at her he hoped she wouldn't stay to long. Not wanting to waste her time he rolled over and pretended to go to sleep. Chase's fever rose a bit more.
