#5: The Tactician (Robin) by Time Paladin

The main purpose of Robin is to be an avatar for players to customize in order to insert themselves into the game. For me though, I see a bit more to the character than that. While his role in the main story is somewhat passive until close to the end, the support conversations help to flesh out a subtle yet intricate personality. It's little things, like his willingness to help a friend, or how he confides in an ally his fears and uncertainties. Sometimes he comes across as a knowledgeable and competent person, and sometimes he's the butt of a joke. He'll play along with people's unusual quirks and hobbies, yet he's not afraid to lecture someone if he feels they're doing something wrong. I know some of these seem like typical qualities you'd see in a lot of characters, but I feel that here it's all done so well.
Now I'd be lying if I said that my feelings towards the character weren't somewhat biased. Of course I'm going to like a character more if I get to play a part in their identity. However, without the underlying character that exists regardless of customization, I wouldn't find him nearly as interesting. I do feel though that it helps me connect with the character more as I make some of the decisions as to who the character is. So in the end, it's both the existing qualities of the character and my own personal input that makes him one of my favorites.

Just to clear things up, I'm primarily referring to the male version as he's the version I'm most familiar with, though some of what I said can apply to the female version if you want it to.

This is amazing! Great job! The Avatar from Awakening is one of my favorite characters as well.

Fire Emblem is one of the main reasons I went with a one character per franchise rule. Aside from the Tactician, my favorite characters of FE that might've made this list are Olivia and Soleil. I thought about adding one of them as an honorable mention for people to vote on, but I already did a pretty good illustration of Olivia for #PokEmblem, and I'm probably going to draw Soleil at some point regardless, either on her own or for PokEmblem.

My favorite FE character is Ike. He's a hardened warrior, and the only main character that's a commoner.

I actually almost wish The Tactician was reused for the Fates avatar, because his character was better than "Corrin" imo. I liked the smart, caring, but amnesiac character of "Robin" more. He wasn't afraid to say things like "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, don't talk to me again." xD I'm missing that from Fates.

Well... the profile pic you have now is really good... and already has "Time Paladin: The Tactician" on it, ALONG with Lucario :b But this pic looks awesome still

To be honest I don't have a favorite Avatar.They were all so different and that's what makes them unique.So I don't have a preference between them.Corrin is a lot more trusting(naïve) than Robin but he's still a great character.C

@Gills: I kind of felt the same way. I think Corrin's strength comes from how he's developed in the main story, and I actually do like his portrayal in Birthright a lot more than Conquest, but I feel like the developement Robin gets through supports is just so unique and interesting, which is why I like him better overall.

Awesome drawing of the Tactician! Much better than the one in FE 7 XD I almost forget that one even exists. The tactician does have a nice character though, so much so that if you just played as generic Robin he could be a stand alone character. Corrin, idk. I'm trying to figure him out, his personality is more confusing.

Re: Agreed! I like the Lucario/TP-Tactician drawing a lot, it really fits as your profile, as Lucario is a huge part of your work here, and so are you xD But this looks really cool, and a switch up is kinda needed. I'm trying to switch up too. I need to make a new profile pic xD

Amazing!I know you've never seen me around before,and that's because I had an old account maybe two years ago.My drawings were terrible,and I was only on colors because of all the friends I made their.But now I'm back with a new account and am ready to start drawing! :) You've honestly always been one of my favourite artists here,because I love fire emblem and your sooo good at drawing.
