Amaulriq broke the surface tension, transparent pearls of water glistening on his dark, glossy epithelium as he exhaled, sending forth a plume of mist up from his nares. He quickly drew in a deep breath as he slipped back into the sea, his dorsal fin forming the peak of the peduncle arch as he dove. His long, wing-like pectoral fins aided in steadying himself as he glanced to the side to see Trill, the tribe Heal Master, drifting not too far off in the crystal blue mist. "Any fortune in our search?" He sounded in her direction.

(Hi, Ceta! Alright... < : ) Well, it doesn't look like anyone else is here yet, so you may not miss much, especially given that Trill is the one accompanying Amaulriq.)

(And basically how things'll work out is that we'll have to find Kole#'s and Monomo's characters and reunite the pod.)

(Or, at least, what there is of the pod. If anyone else joins or if one of you decides to make a new character, we'll come across them eventually at the pod's winter grounds. You can say they all agreed on that as a meeting point.

(Kole#) Hey! :D Yeah, it would probably be better if it started tomorrow. It happens that I forgot I was spending time with my family tonight. Not that I regret that one bit! ^-^ I suppose I'll leave this up. At least I'll have more time to work on Amauri's ref.

(Yeah, I was planning to visit all of your accounts and leave comments as reminders... xp But I forgot to do even that. (Alright, you ready, Monomo? CX Even if Kole# doesn't show up in a few minutes, we'll get started. I don't think Fjord will be found by the conclusion of this session, anyway. That'll give her some time to experiment RPing with him.)

The female's lack of a reply provided all the more an answer. Mild dread and disappointment lodged itself in Amaulriq's heart. "I feared as such. Carry on with your investigation a little longer, and I shall conduct my own. Do not hesitate to take inventory of your herbs, as we may rely on them in the case that any of the kohola are wounded. If the need arises, contact me. Are my instructions clear?" The mildly insouciant Heal Master had departed from view, much to the patriarch's dismay."Very well," he muttered, this time in a more reserved manner.

( @Monomo Ah, OK. XD Sorry if I confused you. I was planning to start at 9 am my time, which is 10 am yours, correct?)

( @Monomo Nah, that's fine. x3 I'm kind of trying to adjust myself. Oh, time...You sourcerer, you! XD)

Amaulriq then decided to commence his search. A majestic valley spread out before him, either side forming a gradual, steep rise. The seabed stretching out behind him was relatively flat. A moonscape. At the least, that is what he gathered via megapclicks. faint sunlight filtered through the slightly opaque water in animated threads, illuminating the sparse schools of damselfish that darted past.

(Rawr, I can usually write much better than this, but since this is an RP, I'm pressed for time... X'D Oh well, so long as everything carries out its point, I suppose..,)

(Oh, and despite that island enclosing Tarpon Lagoon being depicted in the RP pic, they're still a ways from it... XD)

(Gosh, now that we're discussing it, I should've included the valley as part of the map's geography. I might update it soon.)

As he ventured through the natural structure, he felt his rapid, low-frequency clicks disturb a flounder buried in the silt and couldn't help but rotate his tubercle-clad head to observe it for an instant. He abruptly broke out of his daze and proceeded.

(XD Amauri's kinda attention-deficient, like me.)

(Ooh, and it'd be cool if as the pod discovers more areas, they'll be added to the map!)

Amaulriq paused once again as he knew he had heard a transmission. A female of his species, he concluded. A familiar song-tone, but not Trill's..."Kalisha?" He guessed aloud.

(Wow, Amauri narrowed his options quickly. XD)

A wave of relief washed over him. "Yes, by far, perhaps, the most potent storm we've had in decades. The other local kohola are bound to agree on at least that much, I assume..." He paused as he let his own words sink in. Considering what occured to my tribe, I imagine that the lone others could be worse off... Suddenly he considered the condition of the Hunter-Gatherer before him."Are you alright? Did the current batter your fluke any further? I found Trill. She could tend to it, if necessary."

(X'D Yeah, for now, until someone else joins or possibly if one of you makes another character.)

Amaulriq exchanged with her a look of sympathy. He had come across the unfortunate individual when she was in a tragic state nearly devoid of hope. Her flukes, particularly her left one, was direly infected. She had survived her run in with a human's 'deadly bubble net', but without the aid of Trill's remedies, she would never have lived much longer.

(Hope you don't mind my method of applying exposition. XD)

(You can do so whenever you want. Though the character's possible rank choices remain the same:Sentinel, Hunter-Gatherer((you don't have to regarding that Kalisha is already one)), Calf, or Senior.)

"Unfortunately, not as of yet," Amaulriq responded, shaking his head as much as his fused cervical vertebrae would allow (LOL X'D Atoll Pod RP ongoing gags FTW!). "Our Heal Master is conducting her own search, though I hope she stays out of all but trouble. If you recall, during the previous journey to our breeding grounds, her naivety led to her being due to bear a calf this time around. She is rather skilled in the field of healing, but I just wish she wouldn't be so careless...Nonetheless, hopefully Fjord is well..."

(Good plan! x3 I don't think we'll need that many Hunter-Gatherers for the time being, since the pod is heading to their breeding grounds, and humpbacks don't eat much whilst migrating nor when they arrive in their tropical or subtropical winter grounds.

(Well, fortunately almost all the original members are still somewhat active here...Quad, Tiff,Flicca ((I think, though she now goes by a different username)), you, me, and Ceta, who never had the opportunity to RP. Then again, a lot has changed... I don't really know. :/ Maybe if we shifted the focus of Atoll Pod? I mean, we had almost found everyone.)

"Yes, none of the kohola of this tribe should know that better than she..."He agreed, trailing off for a time.Altering the subject yet again, he asked "Where did the storm take you, if you've any recollection? I understand if you were too panicked to notice your surroundings..."

The leader pitied Kalisha's vague memory, but he knew she was making an authentic effort to recall where the rough current had transported her in that chaos."Now, no need to exert yourself too much. It is not at all burdening if you truly cannot gather enough information to provide a more descriptive answer. Have you any idea as to the Sentinel's whereabouts, by chance?"

(I was thinking big cats, too. CX A vote would be a spiffy idea! XD)

(I think this very well may be the first baleen RP in the history of...ever. XD I've seen other Odontocete RPs on Tumblr and DeviantART and whatnot, mostly orcas and other dolphins, but never Mysticetids. CX Yay! Whaley made history!)

Abruptly, another kohola's song-tone echoed throughout the valley, and the two fell silent to listen. Judging by the greater variation in the notes of the voice, Amaulriq concluded that the new company they had been apprised of was male, and not just any male... "Our timing could not have been more on point," the leader's vocalization rose slightly in pitch due to astonishment. "I am certain as you are that it is him... I will not be long. Remain here for a short time." With a powerful stroke of his flukes, Amaulriq faded into the translucent sea beyond the valley.

(Oof! That took longer than I expected. :O)

(I just read over your part again, and I must say, a Sentinel and a timid nature are an interesting mix. :O)

Amaulriq heard a distant, muffled SMACK! and realized that Fjord had breached, probably in an attempt to signal whomever he could belonging to his pod. For the sake of a response, the patriarch eased himself up to the surface for a quick breath, then gently rolled onto his back, his pleated throat exposed to the sun. He raised his knobby flippers out of the eddying seawater and, with great force, brought one down with acute velocity, emitting a slap similar to the Sentinel's means of communication. Amaulriq tucked the same pectoral fin inward towards his stomach until he was floating on his side and pushed out with his other flipper, once again returning to an upright position. He then let out a series of strung clicks: "Fjord, do you hear me? It is Amaulriq, your patriarch."

(Kole# That's a good motive for him to have! CX Oh, and supper's ready for me. Feel free to continue. ^-^)

Amaulriq could see Fjord's silhouette coming into view out of the corner of his eye. He sent another message: " It is good to know you are safe. Have you sustained any injuries? When we catch up with the Heal Master, she can treat them." He noticed how utterly excited and relieved their Sentinel was.

"That is good to hear," the leader clicked, the sound shifting near the end out of amusement. "Come with me. Kalisha awaits us." He gestured with his flipper as he veered around in an effort to get Fjord to follow him, and heaved into a steady, fluid swimming motion, heading in the direction of the landform he had encountered the Hunter-Gatherer.

(Oh, wait. XD Kalisha already found them.)

( @Kole# It is! CX And yup! Fjord's coloration is fine. So long as his color scheme isn't hard on the eyes. That is to say, neon. X'D His current design is relatively realistically colored, so you're alright. x3)

(Of course, it wouldn't be unusual if a humpback had peculiar pigmentation. Most have a tint anyway, when they're underwater. All sorts of greens, blues, and grays, depending on the visibility and minerals present in the water, along with the boldness of the whale's natural markings. In their polar feeding grounds, some have yellow patches due to a cold-loving variety of diatoms, a type of plankton. Oh, and have you ever heard of Migaloo? :D He was recently proven to be a true albino!)

(XD @Monomo I know, right? And rumor has it that he may have fathered a leucistic son, but it hasn't been confirmed for certain as his calf.)

Amaulriq chuckled softly, observing almost with fatherly pride the reunion of the three of them. Suddenly, his thoughts gave way to a certain tribe member. "I am relieved that we are together once again, but we must re-locate Trill soon. Who knows where she's gone..." His eyes clouded with concern and mild sternness.

( @Ceta Yeah, I would think not... XD And regardless of distribution, humpbacks mature se.xually at about the same rate worldwide, though of course it differs from humans, as it would be anywhere between 5-7 years of age. Most don't partake in breeding until later though.)

Whaley for Monomo's rp I've decided on a pangolin and anteater anthro couple. Anteater is the female and pangolin is the male. The male had his "family jewels" damaged in a previous fight so he's sterile. The female is so devoted to the male that she refuses to mate with anyone else to give them a child (and he told her he's fine with her doing that)

Pangolins are adorable. I was deciding between butterfly or chordates and settled on those two species
