The story about the "Collapsing neutron star" involved the neutron star's neutrons shrinking into a pin needle(Becoming Black Hole) and suddenly couldn't proceed. So the stars core burst and chunks of the neutron star are flying at mere light speeds. Hitting solar systems. Devastating unknown numbers of alien life.
