#6: Kazuma Ikezawa (King Kazma) by Time Paladin

I relate with the themes of this movie and its characters quite a bit. Because I have a similarly large extended family, it's easy for me to see things from the perspective of Kazuma. While everyone else is celebrating and socializing, Kazuma is found in a room by himself playing on his computer. When a virus is set loose on Oz, a virtual world that plays a big part in this world's infrastructure, Kazuma is one of the first to react to the situation and battles the virus with his avatar, King Kazma.
Watching this movie again, I realized that I also relate with the main protagonist, Kenji Koiso, though while it's easier for me to say I'm more similar to Kenji, I find Kazuma to be very admirable in his own way. He's one of the youngest characters in the film, yet he takes on a huge responsibility when fighting virus. This puts a lot of pressure on him, as he's now responsible for the lives of his family, as well as people across the globe. The battles between King Kazma and the virus are so intense, not because they look cool, but because of what's on the line. To me, Kazuma finds a good balance between being badass and sympathetic.

Since this is the halfway point, I thought I'd list a few honorable mentions. These aren't in any particular order, nor are these all the characters I considered. I'm thinking I might draw one of them after I'm finished with the countdown, but I'll let you guys decide who that is. The one who gets the most votes will get an illustration and an explanation as to why I like them as a character.

Cool! The way you describe it, Kazuma sounds like he'd be the main character xD That's a very interesting thing for a movie. What company made this?

@Witzke: The company that produced this was Madhouse. Just looking at the Wikipedia article, they've done some impresive work, including Trigun Death Note, Hunter x Hunter & One-Punch Man.

Sounds similar to Megaman: Battle Network, fighting viruses that threaten the cyberworld (basically what every single thing in the real world is connected to, in the series), and the heroes being a young elementary kid named Lan Hikari and his Navi (basically his cyberworld avatar, but he's his own person, but teams perfectly with Lan); Megaman.
