When they were young, an evil corporation that found out about their neon powers (what they seek), and they watched them until they became 7 years old, and they they kidnapped both of them.

Since they were captured they were used for experiments and to test their powers, they never saw each other until about 2 years after being captured and they put them both together.

When topaz saw him she instantly fell in love, and Neo being the guy, he never noticed she had a crush on him.
Since that day they would put them together in experiments.

Once they became 17, the evil company gave them a job to do in the real world, thinking that they already had so long being "brainwashed" and that they wouldn't escape, they devised a plan to break apart from the group of robots that were following them on the mission.
They managed to escape but always have robots after their tail. They hid in the city and use their powers where they can. But they always have to be careful not to draw attention to themselves or they will be caught again...
