Daily 343 by Papercut

The more you want an image to look loose and quick, the more time you'll need to spend making it appear as such, ironically.

Wow, this one is just gorgeous! It has a different feel than your previous paintings, yet I love it all the same! The smooth waters and feeling of solicitude bring such a mysterious beauty to this, wonderful job!

Hmmm... I'm not sure I agree with that. My quick & loose paintings haven't been time consuming. (ignoring the ones I tried to flush out but failed in doing so)

>>Day Thanks!

>>FadingGlory Thank you, I felt like deviating a little bit from the usual stuff.

>>squidtastic Haha, sure.

>>Aello Thank you!

>>SeaGlass Let me try to rephrase that: The only way to carry over the initial gesture and looseness from a sketch to a rendered painting, is to slow way down and be very careful with your brushstrokes. The risk is otherwise that your painting ends up looking belabored and muddy because you have so many crazy brushstrokes going in all directions that the focus gets lost.
Not sure if this makes sense to you, I'm not great at explaining things.
