The amount of detail on the shading and the lighting on the character really makes this painting beautiful.

YUSS! XD I honestly love how this turned out as well! Seriously. You've no idea as to how proud of you I am. CX The fire is eloquently done and looks authentic, and the lighting is so gorgeous and sharply contrasts the darkness of the background. As for said background, simplicity, on occasion, really is best, for a simple backdrop can sometimes determine the overall tone or feel of a painting. ^-^ Brilliantly done! Ha! Ya get it? 'Cause fire...is....bright...and...No? OK. X'D
