My pegasus is in no condition to fly, and I can't fight very well without her. Hopefully we can find a place for me to get a new mount in the next town." She turns to Mortem. "Ah, I don't believe we've met. I am Oriale, Queen of Avia."

(Also, sorry for the long summary, Allure. Quite a lot of important stuff happened, so I had to make sure to get all of it. But I put up a two-comment long summary to avoid a tl;dr scenario. There's fairly important plot fuel in there.)

He begins walking, as he is not yet awake enough to run. Taking a moment to think, he turns to Devina and asks, "So, your daddy's with the Baels, right? Where's your mom in all this?"

"Not really, I was just wondering why are you afraid of dragons?" He says scratching his heads"it's ok if you don't want to talk about it though"

A spark of sympathy went off within him. Turning his head towards her, he said, "So, she's one of THOSE moms, eh? The kind that gets close enough to their prey so they can get whatever they want out of them, then leave 'em for dead after they suck the stuff out of 'em? yeah, I feel ya. Vicious bloodsuckers, they are. How's daddy doing?"

Her expression quickly changed to a grim one. "I'd rather not talk about it, thank you. If I'm going to say any more about my fear, I'd rather everyone hear it so I don't have to explain more than once. Sorry."

He then shakes his head and continues, "Never mind. So uh, how's the squad doing?"

"Ah, I see. I can see why he'd be scared. The battlefield is no place for a young sheila and her wyvern. I'd be scared you'd get hurt too, especially riding on," he points at Xybrass and continues, "that thing."

"Ohhh ok " he says smiling

Realizing he disturbed a hornet's nest with his comment, he tries to remedy the situation. "Sheesh, okay! I get it, childhood friend, you owe him your life. Okay, sorry."
Looking away, he thinks about Xybrass' hurt wing. Remembering something that he did yesterday, he turns back to Devina and asks her, "So, how bad was it hurt? And he can still fly?"

Put into a good mood by her story, he smiles and responds, "Hey, that's cute, kid. Really touching stuff. Yeah, soldiers and their mounts I tell ya; seems the two are better friends than most people."
His smile disappears as he thinks back to last night's events. He carefully asks her, "Say uh, who exactly is your father", hoping she'd mention someone that wasn't killed.

Micah turned to Rubio and chuckled. "Ahhh, it's a dragon! What ever am I to do?"

Upon hearing her answer, Argon stops in his tracks and drops his sword (which I just realized I didn't mention that he picked up). "T-Tybalt, you said?" He nervously asks. "Uh, wow. Is uh, is he a good daddy?"

"And uh," he continues, "You...can just go on ahead. I'm sure we're close enough to the squad that we'll be safe on our own."

Tybalt lets out a sigh of relief. "Thank the gods.
That's to be expected. Ignore him. That's what we all do."

After she takes off, Argon picks up his sword and tries to recollect his thoughts. He begins thinking to himself, ("Ah man, he's a single father too? This decision is getting harder by the day. I can't just stab him in the back now, not after all he AND his daughter have been through! There's got to be another way, there just has to!")
Disappointedly sighing, he continues walking to the squad.

Mortem chuckles at Rubio pretending to be a dragon"ohhh nose"

..I see you've met my daughter."

"Yeah, she's quite the peach...you didn't tell me you had a daughter."

"Yeah, we've kind of been running from royals for the past few days. You could say we've been preoccupied."

"Hm, yeah."
He stops for a moment, then he continues, "While we were walking here, she...told me about her mom."

He stops his march. "...Gods. Look, you don't need to be concerned. We've both moved on with our lives since she vanished. I hope you don't think any different of the two of us because of it. We're still comrades, no matter what's happened in the past, got it?"

"Not to reignite any old fires, but..."
He puts his hand on Tybalt's shoulder.
"I've been there, and it sucks. I'm sorry that happened to you. I know you'll do your best to raise Devina in her place. You'll probably do an even better job than she would've."

"And hey, we'll always be comrades. No matter what."
He thinks to himself ("I hope he holds that up on his end when I...if I...jeez, this is going to be hard.")

He smiled a bit. "Thanks. Now let's get going. Gelvak's waiting, and I can't let the bluebloods get to the base before we do. What with that rat Micah on their side, they probably know all our secrets by now. We better hurry."

"Yeah. Gotta get back and rally the troops for battle," he said a little nervously. Regaining his composure, he continued, "Right then, best not keep Gelvak waiting!"

(I love how we can run our own little story, yet the main plot goes nowhere.)

(What exactly are you asking me to do? Are you asking for a summary of what just transpired or do you want me to "set the stage" and type up some sort of setup?
A summary and a setup are two very different things.)

(Well, if you want a setup, all I know is the Royals are now in Avia and are headed to a nearby village for medical treatment. The village is supposed to be under attack by parallels, but no one knows that they are parallels because they are hiding their true identity. The royals presumably engage the enemy, then move on after defeating them. That's all we talked about as far as chapter objective, and even then I still had to fill in some blanks as far as the plot goes.)

(The rest of the events that are to transpire are up to Ace, Gills, and Ms. Brush. It's weird how no one else really has anything to do in this chapter since we already did our stuff while waiting. Anyway, the rest of you have fun with the story! I'm going to sit this one out from this point onward.)

I had a headache yesterday, and then was too busy after I healed to use my 3ds)

"Ok sir indigo" mortem said beginning to walk

(Gills scans the area and finds some biosigns, there is life on this barren chat on a monday afternoon!

Indigo starts to walk toward the north (lets assume he's not walking off by himself, and anybody who does not comment is just following along with everybody)

Still walking, he turns to Mortem.

"So, are you Lady Amber's retainer, of sorts?"

(I remember when we first got a Fire Emblem game. It was Sacred Stones, thanks to the Ambassador thing. I thought it was stupid at first, but then I became more interested as I watched other people play (namely Witzke and one other brother) until I eventually played it fir myself. Unfortunately, I never finished playing all the way through. I got to the last level, but ended up stalling to level grind and get supports. I got so bored that I just stopped...
I really should finish finishing it, but I'd have to start from scratch. My data was deleted long ago, since other people wanted to play through again and I showed no sign of finishing it any time soon.)

Indigo then said, rubbing his chin, "Hm... Well, I believe Lady Amber's view on royalty differs from the others anyway. She is a very capable woman in her own right. "Ahhh makes sense " Mortem says looking around "lady Amber is quite a bit different from the other leaders, also I was wondering what kind of dragon are you part of?" He says in interest

Oh yes, I'm actually a direct descendant of Valon, the great dragonfather of yore. I take from his species, which we only know now as "'Valonblood', but I'm sure he was a common dragon-type in his time, but no one truly knows now..."

"Why do you ask?" He then ends in a question.

"Just like to hear about people's heritage and see if I know/ remember there relatives from long ago" he says seemingly thinking

I haven't finished 7, I ragequit 11, stopped at the last possible level in 8, and haven't played any other Fire Emblem game.
Point is, I start, but never finish. That's where the shame comes in.

(Most of what I know about the series I learned from watching everyone else, not from personal experience. I mean, it's a pretty cool series, but for whatever reason, I just can't start a game and finish it.)

And Jon'qu, ohhhh, well, to be honest, the term "fan" means fanatic, so I usually choose not to use that term on myself xD But I sometimes still call myself that cuz it's been used very loosely over this last decade. But I definitely think you are a FE appreciator, and more so than most Awakening and Fates players today, who kinda just "meh play" them.)

Indigo nods from Mortem's response. "Ah... wait." then stopping and looking toward him. "You... you're a long lived dragonskin?"

Indigo pauses to see Rubio smiling awkwardly at him with a gap in his mouth. "Oh, Rubio! Looks like you lost a baby tooth." He says smiling.

"Yeah I age very slowly I'm about 15 thousand now of days" he says scratching his head

(wait, is Mortem like 15,000 years old? cuz I think that's too old. Tiki is like only three-thousand by Awakening, and she was in Marth's era before that. The triad war and Valon-origin history is definitely not that old, it's a few thousand years old, but not over ten.)

(That's just how old he believes himself to be since he has had amnesia for a long time only remembering his families death and walking up 2 thousand years later near the dragons gate since he was in a diffrent realm with a diffrent year)

Well, I'll have to talk to TFT about using the dragon's gate, because we've kinda prohibited the use of dimensional crossing, except for very specific story reasons that have been already agreed upon long ago and for some other rare instances. I'll see if we can let this be okay or not, though.)

Oriale walks over to the three and motions for them to follow her. "The village is only a few minutes away. We should try to get there before it gets too late, or we may not be able to finish our business there today. We don't have any time to lose right now.
Also, Indigo.. We turn right here. That way leads to the Dragon's Gate."

Rubio squeals in excitement when he sees Oriale and he quickly runs over to her. "Horthe lady, my thooth!" He extends his palm to show 'Horse Lady' his tooth and points at the gap in his ginormous smile.

"The Dragon's Gate? So it really does exist in Avia?" Indigo says in an slightly excited question.

"Yeah guess so" Mortem says looking around.

Oriale laughed. "Seems you've lost your first tooth, Rubio. How exciting! I remember losing mine when I was a little older than you." She patted his head, then turned back to Indigo. "Yes, though it's very close to the Palmalian border. You seem awfully excited about a dormant gate."

Acen:Dragon Gate? I've read about it.Not much is known about it though.

Oriale nods. "Studies have been held about it for decades, but no one seems to know where it leads, if anywhere. The old legends aren't reliable enough according to most people. I still choose to base my knowledge of the gate on those instead of dead end studying."

(Aw, I liked Eltenir. Oh well, your choice. I vote on keeping him until TFT comes up with a decision.)

I already left the option to POSSIBLY allow users to have more than 2 unuts, under certain conditions.

So if Alex wants to keep three, here's the rules I think should be set;

-Alex cannot make more FE:BI units
-Cannot swap and remake (ie, cant drop an OC to make a new one)

(An exception authorized by the higher power; can't exactly argue with that clause.
I think the only opinion you'd need on this matter is Lugia's, considering we had to stop him from making characters at two, but Allesandra got away with three. As long as he doesn't feel ripped off or something, I think we can just leave it at what you've put in place.)

(Personally, I'd think it'd be difficult to simply dispose of Eltenir, since he's already been integrated into the plot. Then again, Allure did the same thing to Mariesse, but I still found that to create a bit of a plot-hole.)

(Plus, Eltenir has been more prominent in the chapters than Mariesse. A "sudden disappearance" would definitely make for an awkward absence.)

(How about allowing children characters only two of the three?)

Indigo looks to Mortem, Acen and Oriale, then speaks;

"That's very interesting. In Valonian lore, there are multiple mentions of a "Gateway of Dragons", but I believed it was mere myth and legend. Some recordings say it was the mystical doorway that originally brought the dragonkind here in the first place, and some record it was simply a placemark relic of an old civilization long ago."

Oriale nods. "That's similar to what I've heard in Avia, except the records I've read claim it to be a gateway to another world, or a seal to keep an ancient being at bay. Have you heard anything like that, Acen?"

"Dragonths, dragonths!" Rubio screams, flapping his arms wildly.

Yeah,I read about them.They seem pretty mysterious and I would like to see it for myself.

"I'd be happy to show you once this Marauder problem is solved. For now, we focus on the task at hand. Shall we continue?" She said, with a hint of urgency in her voice.

"Then lead the way"

Mortem watches Rubio chuckling slightly

"All right. This way, everyone. I believe we're close."

Oriale turned around and called out to the rest of the group. "The village is just this way! We all have our own business here, so I say we split up, finish our work, and regroup in the plaza."

Mortem sniffs and runs off.

She looks in the direction that Mortem is running in confusion. "He seems awfully excited.. I wonder where he's going?
Ah, he can take care of himself. I'll go and try to find a new mount. See you in time."

Oriale looked around. "Well, we may want to stock up on some for later. It looks like there is an armory over there, with a staff shop next to it. I'd suggest checking there, or asking for directions."

Reuben: *Is at the armory examining blades*

Indigo looks to see Acen walking healthy as an ox.

"Well, we still need more medicine for future events. No telling when-"

Indigo cuts off as he sees something that catches him off-guard; 4 cloaked figures moving toward a fountain in the middle of the village.

(congratulations Ace!! That must be awesome!! :D)

Before she walks off, Oriale notices Indigo cutting himself off. "Hm? Is something the matter?"

Indigo, looking toward the figures, not glancing to Oriale, but then answers; "There are what seems to be four shady figures in the center of town...

The 4 figures then draw weapons from beneath their cloaks.

"And their armed!" Indigo exclaims Oriale and the group.

The shadowy figures begin attacking civilians for no apparent reason.

(I'm going out soon so continue without me)

Indigo yells to the foursome; "Cease your attack at once or-" he cuts off as an arrow from one of the figures shoots past him. "I said CEASE YOUR ATTACK! As Lord Ind-" he stutters as he then sees what appears to be Valonian marks on the villians' cloaks.

Mortem runs over and it seems like he has some blood smeared on his clothing.

(Shoot I don't know if I should just say that Oriale got a Pegasus already. I say she did so she can fight.)
Oriale grabbed Indigo's arm and pulled him back. "They won't listen to reason, Indigo. We need to get down there, now. I won't let any innocents die here." She mounts her pegasus and turns to the others.
"The village is under attack! Everyone, do what you can to protect it!"

"Th-they're Valonian...?! What in father's name are Valonian's doing attacking Avian townpeople?!"

Indigo then charges in to stop one of them from attacking an innocent bystander.

"Stop at once! I am your exalt! I order you to cease attacking!"

They do not respond in voice, nor in action, they simply keep attacking the village.

"Everyone, it's no use! Disarm these Valonians!"

-OBJECTIVE: ROUT THE ENEMY-

She flies over to the "cloaked" and parry's a sword out of their hand.

The time is now! Protect the village! Just don't kill them!

Mortem walks up to one of the outlaws and transforms into his purple dragon form and uses his tail to smash him against a wall.

I actually think now would be a nice time to have someone new introduced /as in a character who exists already but hasn't been able to join the RP/ but I'm going to let the others join when they may.)

Indigo turns to his comrades, yelling out to them, "Peace before wound, wound before maim, maim before kill, but do not let them kill you while trying to spare them. Do what you must, but try to spare at least one of these men for questioning!" He finishes his request as he leaps over a cloaked enemy and kicks him in the back.

*Engages an enemy myrmidon*

Oriale nods. "Understood! From the looks of them, they won't show any mercy. We need to defeat them- and fast."
She turns to see a group of enemies headed towards a group of villagers.
"Gah! Everyone, there are still some people in the open! Try to keep them safe!"
She then flew over to the villagers, attempting to hold off the enemies herself.

Rubio engages a cloaked figure and attempts to bite him, however his missing tooth hinders his ability to cause any amount of damage.

Indigo turns

"Rubio!!"

Indigo gracefully leaps over Reuben and a Cloaked, to catch Rubio in a rolling motion as the "bitten" Cloaked drives a deadly blade into the ground where Rubio once stood.

Indigo quickly looks to Rubio, in his arms, "Rubio, you need to hide. These are not confused friends, these guys are evil! It's too dangerous for you-" Indigo cuts short as the "bitten" Cloaked turns to attack Indigo and Rubio.

Indigo leaps sideways under a marketplace table.

"Rubio, please stay out of danger, for your sake!"

Indigo rolls out from under the table and waves his hand as Duciel appears. He then yells as he charges for the Cloaked, "Attack a child will you?!" swinging Duciel into a ready stance as he runs.

Oriale engages a mercenary, knocking them down with the dull end of her lance. While her back is turned, an outlaw shoots an arrow at her, landing in her shoulder.
"Gah! Gods.."

(Yay, mental fight scenes! Hey guys, I'm still checking in for story updates.
Oriale has it rough.)

*After finishing off the fighter, Reuben engages the outlaw that shot at Oriale* You'll regret that! *Crits outlaw*

Dismayed from the fact that his assistance wasn't neede, Rubio begins to whimper. However, when he realizes that a large majority of the shopkeepers have fled, he stops pouting and takes the oppurtunity to browse their markets in search of a snack.

*notices Oriale's injury*
Here! *hands her a vulnerary*
Watch your back.We wouldn't want you to get hurt.

Mortem seems to be going in a frenzy in his dragon form attacking anyone in sight with his claws or fire.

A wind could be felt by the nearby allies as Duciel's slash cuts down the Cloaked that attacked Rubio.

"When children are involved..." muttered Indigo as he stood over the fallen Cloaked.

As he reached down to inspect the fallen attacker, he heard Oriale's curse, and stood up to see she had been struck with an arrow. "Gah!" he exclaims in surprise. He leaves the collapsed Cloaked to assist her, then sees a red-tuniced swordman rush to her aid. He had never gotten his name, but Indigo recalled he had called out Indigo's name in response to his request of resist-killing.

Indigo turns to see Mortem in a mad frenzy, clawing and throwing flames. "Mortem! What are you doing?! You're endangering the villagers!!" Indigo yells toward the dragon.

(Thanks for the heads up Gills! {I did check my comments before I checked here, but still} Anyway, I should be able to proceed with my proposition tomorrow, but for now, I must use Rest. Good night, everybody!)

Mortem seems to of not heard indigo at all and continues his attack for a few more minutes before transforming back and recoiling back.

(Good evening, Game-_-Over! Let me queue up a quick summary for you.)

(The Royals went to a town in Avia to get supplies, but while they were there, some cloaked figures appeared and started attacking the villagers. Upon closer inspection, the figures had the Valonian symbol on them. So now the Royals are fighting the figures, but are trying not to kill them so they can ask questions.
Oh yeah, and Rubio lost a tooth.)

(As for me, I ended up out of the action for this chapter, but am formulating a plan to include myself and Allure in later action-packed sequences!
Also, I'll warn you now; this chapter is moving along in short bursts, making for a rather slow procedure.)

(I hate chickens because chickens hate me. No reason other than that.)
Oriale takes the vulnerary and looks around her. "Thank you. I'll be alright- You two should focus on the task at hand. I'll need a minute." She tries to lift her lance and winces.

(And now, to initiate my plan...)

Meanwhile, back with Gelvak's group, Tybalt and his men continue towards the hideout. Everyone is keeping close, except for Argon, who lags behind. Every once in a while, he takes out his sword and violently slashes at trees and plants, as if to relieve some sort of discomfort he feels on the inside.

Trying not to give away his mental struggle, Argon quickly thinks up an answer.
"Uh...target practice. Because, y'know, it's always good to polish up your fighting techniques. Besides, trees are pretty close to people, right?" He turns away and mumbles, "Except they don't move," under his breath.

"Devina," he asks, "how dear is your father to you?"

(I must inform you, Tybalt's group and the Royals are in two completely different areas. One would be difficult to reach from the other unless you do some serious power walking.)

A bit troubled by her question, he responds, "I just wanted to know. Make sure you two have a nice bond and all. As for myself, I wasn't as lucky."

He continues, "Yeah, my dad wasn't exactly the best in the world. It's nice to know you are more fortunate."

"How would you know that?" he asks her. "Did you talk to the other soldiers yourself or did your daddy tell you about them?"

"Fourteen, eh? I remember when I was your age, a lot of difficult stuff started happening to me, especially when I hit fifteen."
He stops for a moment, smirks, then continues, "But, I wouldn't want to bore you with the sad story of my teenhood and how I wound up as a mercenary."

Putting away his sword, he asks her, "Do you really want to know the story?" as he feels somewhat uncomfortable telling his life story to a tenage girl.

But he thinks to himself,
("Well, maybe she'd be able to sympathize more since she's as old as I was when it happened.")

(Yeah, Inkbrush does Tybalt. Really, the only ones you'd be able to interact with are Argon and Devina, but they're back behind Tybalt's group.

He sighs. "Alright, I'll tell it to you. My dad was a great warrior, respected by his allies and feared by his foes. He was a force to be reckoned with, and never backed down from a fight. Whenever he came home, he'd tell stories about his adventures on the battlefield. He inspired me to seek adventure myself."

"But like I said, although he was a great warrior, he wasn't a very good father. He and mom would often get into fights, and the outcomes were nasty. He was scary, I tell ya, but that's not why my life fell apart.
One day, after I turned fifteen, dad had a big fight with mom, then stormed out to get to a battle that he was hired to fight in. He never came back. Mom couldn't earn gold in her condition, so I volunteered to help out. Inspired by my dad's tales, I became a sellsword to earn enough money and have adventures."

"But then it happened. I got hired for a job that went overseas. I tried to explain that I wasn't interested in working off-of-continent, but my client took me against my will. I had no way to stay in touch with my family, and was treading on unfamiliar waters."
His expression becomes grim. "It was terrifying."

"Eventually, the day came when I finally got back. I rushed home to see my family, but when I got there, no one was home, and the house was in shambles. I looked around the house and called out, but no one answered. When I finally found my mom, she was..."
He gets more tense, swallows, and continues, "...dead on the floor of her room. I later found out that she was attacked and killed by marauders, and since dad was gone, no one was left to defend her."

"As I got closer, I noticed she was clutching a note in her hands. It was a note left by my younger brother, saying that he left to go find me after I went missing. Poor mom must've been heart-broken. Losing dad was bad enough, but now she lost her sons, and I lost her. At that moment, I swore to find my brother and to reunite what family I had left."
A tear streams down his face. "I've been a traveling sellsword ever since, earning gold to survive while searching for the only family I have left..."

He looks Devina in the eyes. "That's my story," he says in a depressed voice.

Responding to Devina's comment, he says, "Yeah, I guess. I kinda needed to be tough to be able to handle the situations and people that I'd be faced with over the next five years."

"And thanks for offering to help."

After letting out a brief chuckle, he says, "Y'know, maybe I misjudged you. You're a good kid, Devina. You dad is blessed to have you as a daughter."

A tad surprised, he asks for conformation. "Really? They're nowhere in sight? Huh."

(Hm, I thought that the others would be here moving the plot forward. Perhaps we should suspend, or else we may end up in the same spot we were in earlier.)

Now in a better mood, he smirks. "Yeah, I've noticed you can be quite the little firecracker, but it's good he still loves you. I'd do anything to get that kinda love back."

(How soon? If you're going soon, perhaps we could do stuff until you need to leave.)

(Wow, that's a tragic backstory if I've ever heard one. It's funny how much character development we can get out of small side RPs!

Smirking, he says, "Ha ha, yeah right. Hey, you know where the hideout is, right? We don't have to be in a big hurry to catch up, we could hang out here a little longer."

Watching how Devina tends to her wyvern, he thinks to himself, ("Cute, real cute! I hope I have a daughter like her."). He then says, "Well, I've got mercenary stories to tell, and I've always wanted to tell a good old story like my dad used to. If you won't mind listening to an old man ramble on."

Indigo sighs from Mortem's frenzic battling.

"We need to move quickly! The village is being destroyed and the people are in danger!"

Indigo dashes then leaps with fluidity and ease, then lands in between 3 Cloaked.

"Surrender, now!"

The cloaked turn with axe, sword and knife drawn, respectively.

"I thought so." He says, disappointed.

Duciel glows a dim blue with the wind it summoned. In a spinning arc, it cuts down the 3 Cloaked.

As Indigo stood with the fallen 3 around him, a Cloaked draws behind him.

"Wha-"

As Indigo turned to see the Cloaked closing toward him, a sword from behind slashes his left arm.

"Gahgh!!" Indigo cries out in pain.

He turns, gripping Duciel hard, face wincing and blood dripping from his left arm.

The cloaked, now in front of him, draws it's sword up then slashes down.

Indigo had side-stepped and evaded the dropping blade. As he slipped past the Cloaked, he noticed a small mark on the Cloaked...

...tiny markings made by tiny teeth.

"You!" Indigo yells in anger. Drawing Duciel up one-handed and clashing with the Cloaked. After exchanging a few parries, Indigo takes advantage of an opening and cuts down the Cloaked.

"Friends! Do not spare these enemies, they are too dangerous! The village is being destroyed and innocents harmed, these cloaked men are rising back up after being disarmed, we can't... argh...." He pauses to hold his left arm, "We can't endanger the townspeople to question a captive. Do what you must."

"Damn..."

(sorry for the long texts, just trying to help fill in some action and give the "don't spare them" scenerio.

Everyone, you can portray some of the random Cloaked enemies to create a scene if you want, like I just did)

Oriale turns in shock to Indigo's injury and decision.
"Right. There are lives at stake." As she was about to turn around, she saw another Cloaked run towards Indigo as he was trying to recover from his injury.

"Huh? Indigo! Please, watch your back!"
She flew between Indigo and his attacker, taking a slash to the back and retaliating with a quick blow to the stomach.
"Nghh.. Hah.. You're unharmed, right Indigo?"
She stumbled over, trying to keep herself up with her lance.

"Hah.. Please be more careful.. I couldn't.. I couldn't bear to.." She cut herself off, wincing from her two wounds.

Mortem re transform and breathes fire on a few of the cloaked men seekingly more in control then earlier before promptly biting one of the unarmed men's legs to keep him from moving towards there weapon.

*Acen rushes to assist Indigo and Oriale"

(No apology necessary, it's okay. I hope to be more involved in the next chapter as well, since I've been restricted to only a side story in this chapter. That's why I've set up a plan for how Argon and Devina get caught by the Royals.)

After letting out a little laugh, Argon says to Devina, "Alright, I'll tell ya some stories! But be warned, *fakes Pirate accent* I been around many a pirate on me adventures, and pirates tend to do a lot of nasty things. But I'm sure ye can handle it, ye be the daughter of Tybalt, after all!"

Reuben: *Cuts down another hood* ! *Notices a hood outlaw aiming for Acen* Lord Acen! *runs to Acen* *Takes arrow shot to the arm* Gah! Damn... *advances on outlaw* *attacks outlaw* (Also just a question, do we have personal skills?)

( @Reuben: I'm pretty sure we do, as TFT has talked about it before. We just haven't released them yet.)

"*Cuts the accent* Ahem. Alright, which tale should I tell? Ah, I know!"

(I'm not sure how far we should go with this, since it might make it difficult to keep them stalled come the next chapter if I spin a bunch of yarns now. What say you, Allure? How many tales should I tell?)

"T'was a bright and early morning two years ago, when I got this job from a pirate captain. The job was simple: take out a rival captain and his crew. The only problem was we had to sail across the sea to get to his base. So, I packed up my stuff and boarded the vessel, unaware of the dangers that lay ahead.
Now by that time, I had become quite the experienced sailor, so I fit right in with the scury crew. No one was much of a talker, except for this one fellow; he was like the crew's jester of sorts, always mucking things up and getting into trouble, but doing it in a humorous way. Unfortunately for him, the captain didn't find his failures to be too funny.

"So one night, we had the bard playing a sea-shanty, when the joker fellow started dancing wildly. I would've thought him to be drunk, but he seemed like the kind of guy that would do this just to give everyone else a kick out of it. Well, what ended up happening is he started to bounce around and knock cargo off of the deck and into the sea, including the weapons crate and medical supplies, right as the captain came out o' his quarters!"

(Unfortunately, I must leave on this cliffhanger. Sorry.

Indigo winces as he holds his left-arm halfway with his right, Duciel still in his right palm. He replies to Oriale in a gruntled, pained voice,

"Gahh... No, I'm not alright... I'm bleeding down my arm, and this village is being burned down to the ground. I'll be fine when this is over and we save these people from these... creatures..."

He coughs from the pain and dirt, then with his head down, he half faces toward her, as he spoke,

"The question is; are YOU okay? You're... you're cloak is turning red... What happened to you??"

( @Everybody, for drama purposes, throwing out a vulnerary to Indigo and/or Oriale would be... bland, and anti-dramatic. So, for gritty storytelling, they kinda need to bleed a bit to give that feeling of "we need to finish this up cuz this suuuucks" xD

also @Reuben, we pitched each other the idea of personal skills, but they weren't going to impact any use in RPs. Personal Skills wouldn't really work in a RP scenerio. However, if you have some idea that you planned Reub' to be able to do some cool feat or something, be free to do so unless it's like, unrealistically OP. I'm sure you know how to be fair, I trust your judgement :))

She forces herself to look up, and replies with a pained voice.
"It was a Cloaked.. It was closing in behind you while you were checking out your arm, and I.. I took the blow for you. It seems it was much worse than I imagined.. I can barely stand, and my cloak is stained by my own blood."
She forced herself to smile, as if she didn't want to worry anyone.
"I'll be alright.. I can't die. Not now.. Not when I have so much to live for..
..Please, don't worry about me. We need to finish what we started.."

Crap crap crap crap crap" Mortem shouts running around defeating as many foes as possible taking many arrows and slashes in the process before he collapsed from the amount of jnjuries

Crap! We don't have any vulneraries...What happened to them?!

Reuben: *Pulls arrow out of arm* Gah... Lord Indigo! Lady Oriale! Rest as long as you must, you must not fall here! *attacks mercenary* *misses* *just barely raises sword in time to block the crushing blow of the mercenary, but is still knocked down* *(on ground) sweep kicks mercenary to topple him, then jumps up to plunge sword into mercenary

(Just arrived! Let me see if I can get on the 3DS quick.)

He stops for a second, and then asks Devina with a smirk, "You know what the captain did next?"

"Gods..."

Indigo grimaced under the pressure of his friends being in pain, which gave him more harm than his bleeding wounds. He looked to locate his friends, and how many foes left remained.

"Everyone! Gather close to another, have each others' backs! We need to work together or we'll die!

Oriale, please stand behind me, you're wounds are heavy. If you are hit again... I pray not to see that."

Chapter 3 "From The Unknown"
Objective: Rout the Enemy
Cloaked Army: 5
Ally Army: 5 (minimum)

"If only we had a damn healer." Indigo said under his breath in irony.

Indigo took up his blade and spinned a quick 360 on the ground to build a momentum for the edge of his blade to hit hard on an oncoming Cloaked.

The Cloaked fell faster than expected.

After taking down the attacker, Indigo let loose a huff, and winced again from the pain. "4 left..." muttered.

Indigo then shortly leapt backward to Oriale's aid.

They hear a strange wining nearby and Mortem suddenly shoots to attention and sends flames at one of the cloaked that is left

*Acen uses Solais to attack from a distance*

She nodded.
"Alright.. But please do not overexert yourself.. You're hurt as well. I'll gladly guard you and anyone else if need be."
She let out a sigh and pulled herself up.
"I'm familiar with using a staff, though I do not have one.. I'd heal you right away when given the chance."

Rubio continues to fill his pockets full of a wide wariety of fruits and pastries, despite all of the chaos.

(I love how everybody is in a life or death situation, yet Rubio is just having the time of his life, taking food from the unattended stands! Helps to bring a lighter mood in hard times like these!)

(Hey, quick heads up- @Spooky-Plant plans on joining a bit later!)

Reuben: *Gets back to help everyone* There's only 2 left... we can do this!

He continues, "Actually, he threw himself overboard. Captain told him to 'fetch the cargo', and he went and did it. Never did get back up though. Anyway, we drew close to the enemy, but they came out to meet us in their own ship. The ships pulled up parallel to each other, and then the battle began!
The enemy was the first to fire. They landed their cannonballs right into the hull, and then we landed some into theirs! Crew members were swinging on ropes, leaping from one ship to the other, but unfortunately for us, the enemy had archers! Shot down every one that tried to board, they did! It was looking pretty grim for us, but we had better hand-to-hand fighters than them, so we managed to keep them at bay."

"Then it came down to just the archers on their ship and me and the captain on ours. Oh yeah, and a cannon guy. We managed to distract the archers while our cannon guy fired into their ship, until she sank! While we did have some arrows in uncomfortable places, we won the day! Unfortunately, our boat had taken a few too many hits and began to sink as well.
We were able to make it to the base, but only barely. After that, we stormed the hideout, took out every last scallywag in there, helped ourselves to their booty, and stole a ship back home! What was interesting was that they had a healer lady held prisoner. That lady would go on to be my assistant in the next battle. She was the finest healer I'd ever laid eyes on...and she was pretty good at her job, too!"

Mortem returns to his human from and quickly chugs a vualantary to heal all of his wounds.

He grins a little, then replies, "Hey, a pretty face is a real refreshing thing when you're surrounded by jerks all the time! But alas, she, like all the other clerics I met in battle, was taken down and lay among the slain. It's a tough job being a healer on the front lines, and most healers underestimate the difficulty."

A tad annoyed, he responds, "Hey, it's not my fault that most my employers are jerks! Jerks with good money, that is! I guess it's the price you pay when you're a sellsword."

He catches the apple, and, calming down, he says, "Uh, thanks. But uh, I don't actually have any friends anymore. They're pretty much all dead. Or lost somewhere. Except for you and Tybalt, I guess." He sighs, then continues, "Well, if you consider me a friend, that is."

(Turning myself in.
Good night!)

Indigo nodded back to Oriale.
"I wish I had some staff to give you, but unfortunately I'm not a cargohold. We have but 2 of these enemies left..." he replied with pain to her.

"(I'm severely hoping that within all this, none of my friends are...)" he thought to himself.

Looking to see the strongest "Cloaked", (an Adventurer classes unit), Indigo shifted his shoulders back, pushing past the pain, and trying to draw strength to himself and show a hopeful boost for moral. "Acen!" he calls back to his friend, "I need your strength! We need to take the leader down!"

He beckons for his friend's aid, to supportively take down the Cloaked commander.

Mortem charges in his human form at a cloaked and all members of the army feel invigorated by a far off voice that seems to be healing there wounds.

(Is the last cloak that's not supporting the adventure supporting the adventurer?)

Starting to get annoyed by her 'babysitting' comments, he says in a more irritated tone, "Well, if you want to get moving so bad, we could just go now. We've both eaten and we had a story, so I guess there's no real need to hang around much longer."

"Unless you think you've got a better story," he adds.

"Fine, let's go," he sighs disappointedly.

Recognizing the voice, Oriale moved her gaze. "Nodimmyr?! Are you there?"

He raises his eyebrow, then casually says, "Well, if you are willing to stay, I saw a nice village on the way here. We could stop by and visit, if you don't mind some back tracking, that is."

She nodded. "Please, don't waste your medicines on me. I took a blow for a fellow lord, nothing major. Now please, could you assist us? We need to defend this village, now."

He winces, grunts and puts his hand behind his head. "Ah...er..."
He looks around nervously, but then looks back to Devina and asks her, "Your wyvern is pretty stable, right?"

"There's two.. Lord Indigo and Lord Acen are engaging one.

(We're saying the last enemy is an outlaw, so bows.)

Trusting Devina's word, he approahes the wyvern. "Alright, let's go. Just uh...not too fast. And when we get there, I'll get you an apple."

(Not really as of now.)

"Let's just say I haven't had the best experiences with winged mounts and leave it at that."

He looks downward at the village and nods. "Yeah, that looks like it. Go ahead and put us down nearby."

(Hey, do you want to have them get involved with the Royals now, or should they be at a nearby village instead?)

(That was more meant for Allure. The idea is that Devina gets into a fight with the Royals, but they spare her and Argon comes to get her afterwards. I'm just not sure if we should try that now, or if there was too much action in this chapter and we should wait to engage until next chapter.)

Indigo's eyes light up to see his old friend come to his aid. He lifts Duciel up, and parallel to Acen's movements and speed, he charges to the Adventurer side-by-side his friend.

[the following is subject to VOTE ON, for reasons of A) Use of Ace's character, B) Speeding up the chapter versus prolonging it for more drama, and C) Opinions on the following actions being canon:]:

As the Cloaked saw the two blue-clad lords charge toward him, he rose his bow to aim at either enemy. He strung his bow long and had a deadly killer-type arrow laid ready to fire.

Just as he was about to let the arrow fly, the lords had already reached him.

The two lords slashed their blades in tandum, with the energy of Sun and Wind, the two's similtanious attack was almost one. With one blow, the Cloaked commander was caught off-guard, and fell with his bow shooting off the arrow to the sky, out of sight.

The Cloaked..... had fallen.

Amidst the dust clearing, the village lay torn, but the majority of it was structurely saved.

(Yes, I was thinking about that too, but I think I've come up with a viable solution should it be held off until chapter four.
I was thinking Tybalt gets to the base, but notices that both Devina and Argon are missing. Fearing the worst, he sends what remains of his squadron to find them. When the squad gets there, they see the Royals within close proximity to the duo, and then swoop in to defeat the Royals and 'rescue' the two. Conflict set! Right?)

Indigo stubbles from the exhaustion. He breathes heavly... Then looks up to his friend, "Thanks, Ace..." then he drops Duciel onto the ground and kneels on both knees, catching his breath.

"Where is everyone?... I need to know everyone is... alright..." Indigo mutters out, coughing and breathing for air.

Rubio finishes his looting and scrambles over to Indigo, stuffing his face full of pastries.

Oriale tries to pull herself up from the ground using her lance, but stumbles. She winces from the pain of falling over again.
"...Agh.. Someone, help the others.. I don't think I can... Forgive me, everyone."
She let go of her lance, falling unconsious on the ground.

I've never felt so exhausted in my life...
Ahh! *rushes to Oriale* Someone! Get water! *fans her with his thunder tome*

Mortem seems to be frantically looking around.

Thank you..*Makes Oriale drink some of the water,rips part of his cape and soaks it in water to put it on her forehead*

"P-papa Indi? Horse Lady?" The young lad is on the verge of tears, thinking that his friends have died. After a brief moment of weeping, Rubio passes out due to the extreme amounts of sugar he had inhaled... a sugar coma.

Reuben: Yeah, I remember him from Unity tower, Lord Acen told me he tried to fight off the attackers there with a butter knife *weak laugh* I'll see if I can find any villagers hiding around, tell em it's safe for now. I'll try to find some medical supplies too.

(Hello, @SeaSun! Just to summarize a little, the Chapter is at the post-battle part, and pretty much everybody is wounded, especially Lord Indigo (moi) and Lady Oriale ( @Inkbrush), so come in when you wish! Battling would be very unlikely at thus point, so conversation is easier now)

Indigo raises his right hand to Rubio, then smiles to the young lad.

"I'll be.... alright..."

his eyes then close, and his hand drops lightly as he faints...

EVERYBODY, My vote is that Indigo and Oriale are too injured, they are put to heal. The following chapter should follow as the rest goes ahead to find supplies and vulneraries to help the two royals, and of course another battle will ensue cuz Fire Emblem. So Indigo and Oriale are temporarily unavailable, so Inky can switch to Micah, and somebody else could be the commander beside Indigo. Of course, this is just my vote.

Nobody dies though! This chapter really WAS dramatic, huh?)

The villagers started to file out into the ragged dirt streets. Some children running out with parents calling back for them.

The cloth of the fallen Cloaked waved with the wind. Blood from them not to be seen, and bodies unacounted for. If not for the torn cloaks laid across the town-torn battlefield, it would have seemed as though no enemies had existed in the first place.

(Rubio shall be commander.)

Marigold arrived in three three village, sword and tome at hand, "Gods! I'm late! I should probably check for injured warriors..." She checked the pocket in her cloak, only to find one vulnerary. "One?! I know I had more!"

(I vote Rubio for commander! In the absence of his leaders, Rubio rises up to take charge and lead the troops to victory, just like Papa Indigo would!

Plot summary:
After the chaos that was known as last night's events, the Royals head off to a nearby Avian village to restock on supplies and get medical treatment for the wounded, particularily Acen. Micah retains her suspiciousness of the new allies, while Indigo takes some time to get to know them better. Afterwards, an unmounted Oriale joins the group. When asked about why she's unmounted, she tells the group that she needs a new mount on account of her old one being too injured to fly anymore.
Meanwhile, Tybalt's group marches along toward the hideout, but Argon is nowhere to be seen; that is until Devina, Tybalt's daughter, does an aerial surveilance of the surrounding area. Upon doing so, she finds the sellsword sleeping and wakes him up. The two then head back to rejoin the rest of the group.
(Continued below).

While the Royals and the Baels continue to socialize, Zona makes his way back to Atrus via wolf and ninja guard. Upon reaching Atrus, he summons Finni, a reliable fighter and skilled chef, and sends him to assist the Royals in his place. Meanwhile, Rubio loses a tooth.
After much stalling, the Royals make it to the village; however, they don't have time to start shopping as cloaked figures begin attacking villagers and destroying the village. Upon closer inspection, they appeared to bear Valonian marks. Seeing this, Indigo orders them to cease their assault, but they only ignore him. Left with only one option, the Royals begin engaging the enemy with the added assistance of Reuben, a swordfighter that was at the local armory.
(Continued below).

Meanwhile, the Baels continue their march, but Argon hangs in the back, struggling internally. Devina goes back to see what's wrong, but ends up getting more than she bargained for after Argon spills his origin story to her. Unfortunately, in the time it took to tell the tale, the two fell behind the main group. Devina wants to catch up, but Argon insists they stay back and pass more time as he tells her a tale of him doing mercenary stuff.
Back with the Royals, Rubio tries to help, but only gets in the way. So instead, he spends his time looting abandoned food stands. The Royals continue to combat the new cloaked reinforcements, but not all goes as expected; both Indigo and Oriale sustain major injuries. Things look grim, but then more help arrives in the form of Nodimmyr, a skilled swordswoman.
(Continued below).

In the last moments of the battle, Indigo and Acen team up to take down the cloaked commander to win the day. Unfortunately, Indigo and Oriale collapse from their injuries afterwards. The villagers thank the Royals for defending the village, but cannot properly treat their injuries as they have neither the supplies nor the know-how. So the Royals leave the village in search of some sort of appropriate shelter for Indigo and Oriale (complete with wound treatment). Meanwhile, Argon convinces Devina to come along with him to visit a nearby village. They fly to the village and set down nearby.
Will Devina and Argon encounter the Royals? Will Indigo and Oriale get healed in time? Is Rubio going to lose another tooth? Find out next time, on Fire Emblem: Beyond Infinity!
