Qi-Tang suffered from severe favortism, especially when her older sister Quang-Hua teased and even abused her about it. By the age of 12, Qi-Tang already had Schizophrenia, depression, severe pryomania, and other bad mental illnessess due to a lack of love, understanding, and fear. Qi-Tang was a prodigy truly, as she could beat an expert 4O-year old Firenation general at an Agni Kai w/directing and even manipulating lightning. (more in comments)

If Quang-Hua did something, Qi-Tang usually got in trouble for it. Qi-Tang was the scapegoat of every single problem. If she didn't get a single firebending pose right (literally had to be perfect in every way), she would be punished. Punishments were whippings, burnings, or beatings/humiliation.
