Imho there´s really no problem in copying or painting from reference, but it´s always interesting to know. I like your copy, it lacks the rembrand-like dramatic of the original, but it has it´s own mood.

Hey Splotch, and thanks! I think I ended up with a desaturated version overall, probably down to being scared to commit with a richer palette -_- Love your from-life paintings by the way, must have a go at that sometime!
