Hmm. So, I have to ask, do all of these anatomical details primarily apply to when you're aiming to draw realistically? Like, if you're like me and cartoonize things for the sake of stylization, is that fine and dandy?
Well, these people are signing up for me to correct their anatomy to the stuff found in nature, but no! Think of The Lion King. It has correct anatomy, just stylized. It gives it more believability. But obviously you can draw however you want, I just find it more useful to get to know anatomy first, and then to stylize, if that makes sense!
Ahhhh. That makes a lot of sense, actually, thanks. I'm going to take more careful note of these as you go on, then. I'm considering even doing a request myself. :0
Thanks, this was originally somewhat stylized on purpose but I was curious how close it was to proper anatomy and how I could make it more realistic. I think this will really help next time I draw something. I also hadn't quite figured out the hips and shoulders yet and I think I understand it a bit better now. So thank you!
Um, I was kind of wondering which animal you chose as referance for this? Or if you did try to combine the fox and cat like I mentioned?
I'm just curious if you were thinking of the hybreed I was going for or if you kept it realistic and only used fox. The advise is still super helpful either way.
The body is a hybrid, since between foxes and cats, not very many things are different. c: If you were basing it more off of a cat than a fox, then the muzzle should be shorter, the ears smaller and the neck shorter. It might also be more stocky in the body depending on the type of cat. :0 Just think of canines as more angular and cats as more round and just combine them I guess?
