Blue was in the kitchen, for once by himself and not eager to run out the door to face danger head on, or find trouble. He was eating the last of Ethan's cereal, just to be a butt, he already put the empty box back in the cupboard and was trying to finish his cereal as quickly as he could before someone finally came in the kitchen.

Qui was on her way to the kitchen, she was in the mood for a snack now that the kids were taken care off. The shapeshifter opened the door and went inside she noticed Blue right off, she knew something was up by the way he was eating like a starved wolf " that the last of Ethan Ethan's cereal isn't it?" She question with a raised eyebrow, she then went over to the refrigerator to get her something to eat

Blue only snickered in response to Qui, he quickly drank the milk and then got up. Walking over to the sink and putting the empty bowl into it, "I don't know what you mean, I was just hungry, that's all" he grins down at her.

Qui had her head in the refrigerator as she replied " huh, sure " he wasn't fooled, she knew her mate well enough but she wasn't going to do much other than bug him. She continue to dig around in the fridge "hay, Blue when were you going to fix the lamp in my study?" She asked with a playful tone as she looked over the door of the refrigerator

Blue tipped his head to one side, "Is it broken or does it just need new lightbulbs?" he was confused by her playful tone and question, "Can't you just fix it yourself? Or buy a new one?" he met her eyes and he just looked lost.

Qui push lips " I already check the light bulb and it wasn't that " she then took out some stuff to make a sandwich, she then close the door and walk over to the counter to make her sandwich " I don't want to buy a different one, it has nostalgia but I can't figure out how to fix it...hmmm I guess I could ask Jason but I didn't want to get it back and it be something completely different then a lamp, you know how he is "

"I'll take a look at it later, see if I can figure it out for you" Blue leans on the counter beside her. "Nostalgia, hmm?" That got him thinking, nostalgic things usually connected you to the past or your childhood. He rested his chin on his arms and tilted his head to glance up at Qui.

"Say, Qui" Blue starts, "We've been together for a while now, we have three children together, yet I never asked you about your past or what species you are. So, will you tell me?" he turns around now and leans back on the counter on his elbows.

Qui was putting together her snack " yeah...its something lady Victoria gave me when I first came to the silver Spears" she paused thinking back on it
And then it was like Blue read her mind, she slow her Pace making her sandwich, the shapeshifter got quite for a moment " there not much to tell, but if you want to know...my species is well...I can't say what it is, there a curse on the name of what me and Jason are, if we say the name of our species something always happens, Jason has almost been ran over by a car before, he been hit by a stray baseball and every been attacked by a flock of chickens, apparently our species name will bring bad luck, so we try not to say it out loud...."
had put together her snack " my home? my brother and I come from...." she paused it had been a long time ago " its been a long time since I've thought about my life before lady Victoria took me and Jason in "

Blue looked intrigued, "A cursed species name? I've never heard of that before" he rolls his head back as he thinks. "You can't say it out loud, but could you write it down and then I read it?"

He moved and nudged her gently, "Come on, tell me" Blue encourages in a soft voice. "I need to know Qui" he rests his forehead against the side of her head, "No more secrets" he whispers

" I think Soledormir place the curse on my species long ago, I'm not sure why though " Qui look frustrated with not being able to speak about it, she then nodded her head " writing it down dosen't seem to cause any disaster, its how I even learn what I am but besides the curse name there nothing special about my species, dual horn unicorns that can shapeshifter to a human form, most of my kind has magic " she then play with a piece of her hair " and I guess the other thing is, my species typically are twins, we're usually born in twos but I hear triplets or quadruplets happen...." she thinks on what it be like to carry more then just two children // I felt like a balloon was just Nolan and Mae...caring 4 children that long I got nuts //her face was red as she shook her head with the though of having more kids, she wasn't against it but she also hope she never have to carry more than 2 at a time.

When Blue came over, Qui leaned against him, she was quiet for a moment, she wanted to forget what happened but a person simply doesn't forget that " me and Jason were 8 years old when it happened..." she started and then went into the story " we lived in a small trade town, my father was a blacksmith, you can guess why Jason wanted to be one now? " a small smile came to her face " dads armor and weapon were some of the best in the land but we were from a small town so his crafts never got the attention they deserved but dad didn't want to go to a bigger town, he wanted to rise his family in a quiet place and mom, she was a cleric, the doctor would call my mother if he needed help, there wasn't very many people in the village who had healing magic " after giving a small summary about her mother and father, Qui look down, she missed them but now she had come to the point where she have to say what happened to them " it was early fall, the weather has still been warm, the First chill of winter shouldn't have come for another month, but I remember that day being so cold... I was shopping with mother and one of her friends, she pointed out there was fog rolling in from the foster for the East, I remember mom saying something different feel right but her friend just dismissed it and said we were probably just going to have an early winter this year but that fog...it was so cold " even being next to Blue and feeling his warrants Qui began to quiver from the memory, she moved her hands to rub her arms " fog was already creepy but this time it was worse, I thought I was seeing things moving in the fog, shape but I can't see just what, but I was sacred, I felt a wait fear press down on me and I started to panic, I wanted to go home, mom picked me and that when we heard someone scream and then someone else, then we heard something I will never forget, the sound of a Nightmares Roar..."

" i-t was a horrible sound, it makes the hair stand on your neck and something that you remember and hear echoing in your dreams years after hearing it.... b-ut when we turned to look that, t-hat when it attacked from behind....the chains rip though moms friend and they pulled her into the fog, I remember hearing her screams as mom ran away with me....people were dying Blue, friend I knew, my whole village was being killed by these monsters " tears streamed down Qui face, even though it had been years since this happened, she remember it happened like yesterday

"As we got closer to our house dad with with a group of guards and his friends, they had killed some of the Nightmares but there was so many people dead all around.... dad told mom to get inside and board the doors, so she took me inside and set me down, telling me to go over with the other kids and my brother,she and the others locked and boarded the doors... they locked dad outside, its what he told mom to do but dad... " Qui covered her face as she sobbed in them, she didn't have to say what happened but it was the Last time she ever seen her father or the others who stay outside... "I-I was so scared Blue"

Blue was quiet as he absorbed everything Qui was telling him, he had never encountered a Nightmare, not outside of a vision at least. He never had to experience their cruelty yet. He looked at Qui as she sobbed.

He then pulled her into a hug, resting his chin on her shoulder, "I can only imagine how terrifying that must have been" Blue whispers. Feeling some anger at himself, he'd been alive hundreds of years and yet felt like he'd achieved nothing. He could have done so much if he hadn't been a dumb, lost, little colt. He could have saved people like the ones in Qui and Jason's village.

He didn't say anything about that though, "What happened next?" he asks.

It took a moment for Qui to collect herself, knowing Blue was there with her help cailm her down and she found the strength to continue her story
after her crying slow down, Qui took a breath be for continuing " I want to the back of the room were Jason was, we just hug each other....mom come and check on us and then started to look over the injury but then the screaming started outside again, Jason was freaking out, I try to cover his ears so he didn't have to hear them dying, he wanted to go save dad, he keep screaming dad out there, Dad out there, I didn't know what to do! I knew dad was out there, I wanted him to come inside with us but he stay out there to fight off the monsters, to keep us safe....mom had to come over and place a spell on Jason to make him fall asleep.... I- I know why she did it, why the other mother were putting us all to sleep....i-t was so we didn't have to suffer though that and that we were all going to die there...." Qui got quite at the end, at that time she did believe she was going to die along with everyone else, Qui hugged herself now being a mother herself that fear for her children and in that situation, it made her feel sick

But she counted on " mom was going to put me to sleep next but one of the other woman made comment that it was quite now, and it was, there wasn't anyone screaming, there was nothing at all, except hearing my own heart pounding in my ears, I remember looking to the door, I didn't know what to expect, I was so scared, and then it got cold, a bitter cold, ice was creepy though the cracks in the room mom and the others circles around us, they were looking at the door and widows expecting the monsters to break though at any moment but then Jason and the other kids started to screaming and thrashing in their sleep, they all started crying and act like they were in pain, no one knew what a the Monsters were, we didn't know what a Nightmare was, that they could torture you in your dreams, mom and the others put everyone to sleep to spare them but those evil monsters! Jason, I-I couldn't wake him up, he was crying for help but he wouldn't wake him up, I slap him and it didn't work, he was under a spell of torment and I couldn't stop it, I couldn't save my own brother! " Qui voice cracked with her emotions, she hated that she was powerless and had to watch Jason go through that, seen him in fear and pain

Qui shook her head, she came this far so she had to go all the way now " when mom and the others started to help us that when they attacked, they broke though the doors and came In with there fog, and for a moment I just remember hearing screaming and blood going everywhere, mom threw her arms around me and Jason, she was crying and saying she loved us....but she was ripped away from us, a bigger Nightmares then the other held mom, he turn and look me in the eyes with his cold slits pupils and said to me, that my fears were delicious and he wanted to savor my taste, he then look at my mother a-nd " Qui turned and buried her face in Blues clothes " he ate her in front of me! " she gripped him tight sobbing into her mates embrace, she couldn't go into detail about it, she just couldn't, but the Nightmares made a show of it, to get as much fear and pain from their victims

Qui was a mess now, she was trembling and sobbing with tears, she just wanted to be safe in Blues arms so she just cry there.
