Since Sliat's fall into the Spring Yard abyss, Nic was very quiet, Cinos noticed. She was quiet, too.
They decided to grab the green emerald from Green Hill Village. They could've turned back, but they didn't want to walk back through the Spring Yard Mines, there were too many horrible memories. So, they were going around through Labyrinth Lake, Star Light Park, and the Scrap Brain Scrapyard. The two decided to have a picnic in Star Light Park once they arrived.

Cinos hummed loudly as she spread strawberry jam, lettuce, and peanut butter on a piece of bread, sticking two slices together finally and taking a bite.
Nic stared down at his LT sandwich sort of getting lost in the individual grains. Cinos chuckled. "You okay there?" she asked with her mouth full.
"Yes, I'm fine." Nic breathed.
"Whatever you say." Cinos laughed. Truth was, she wasn't exactly right in the mind after seeing the hedge-rabbit disappear, either. She wouldn't let that get to her though.
The night was shining bright, and each star was sparkling a different color and the moon was a beautiful orb glowing in the sky. Cinos could've swore she saw Sliat in the curves of its landscape.
Cinos continued eating and eventually coaxed Nic into forcing at least something down. He did so very reluctantly, but it wasn't long before he broke down into violent sobs.
He shook and shivered in the bat's arms as streams of limpid tears ran down his cheeks and chest.

"She f*cking LOVED me! Why didn't she understand I loved her too? Godd*mnit, Sliat, why did you sacrifice yourself for me!" he screeched. Cinos held his head and looked on. It was midnight when a lot of tourists came to visit and many were staring. She didn't mind.
The next day they headed to Scrap Brain Scrapyard. It was as dark and dingy as it sounded. There were broken robots and other metal parts scattered around. Rumor has it that the place was Dr. Robotnik's base when Sonic the Hedgehog defeated him, destroying it all.
Cinos stopped and rotated her ears. There was a rustling in the metal next to her.
Catching her by surprise and making her jump anxiously, a ferret boy hopped out with advanced-looking technology in his hands. He looked suspicious of her as he prodded her with what resembled a stethoscope which had an earpiece at the end that he held up to his ear. She looked at him as if he had smacked her.
"Are you a ghost?" he asked, talking extremely quickly.

"You look like a demon from the depths of hell." he said quickly.
"N-No! What-" she stopped suddenly as he poked her in the eye with the stethoscope. "are you doing?" she screamed.
He lowered the stethoscope and smoothed his blue pompadour back. "Checking for supernatural signs o' course." he replied.
"Well stop. I don't care." Cinos spat. "Just who do you think you are anyway?" she asked.
"I'm Elias Nanab. I'm majoring in Sanctology. It's very interesting." he said quickly, rubbing a finger on his nose as if embarrassed by his subject. He turned away and then looked back quickly with an even brighter blush. Cinos was staring at him with her hands on her hips.
"What?" he asked.
"Ask me my name?" she rolled her eyes and crossed her arms.
"What's your name?" he asked nervously, pressing his fingers against eachother.
"Cinos to friends. Miley Cisneros to you." she said, mocking his fast talking.
"Okay. Miley then." he looked down, trying to think of something to say.

He resurfaced. "Do you mind if I call you Smiley Miley?" he grinned.
"Cheeky." Cinos commented.
Nic huffed and stepped in. "We need to get going. Nice to meet you, Elise."
He took Cinos' hand and led her through the scrapyard junk. It wasn't long before they noticed the ferret following them while inspecting everything in sight with the stethoscope.
"Where're ya headed?" he asked nosily.
"Green Hill Village!" Cinos shouted back.
"If you're lost I can show you the way! That's where I live." he yelled back, still on their trail.
Nic groaned. "We're fine." he said, gripping Cinos' hand tighter.
It seemed sudden, almost in the blink of an eye that Elias was in the front of the party, walking alongside Cinos. Eventually the two got to talking about ther current situations and hit it off.
"So why did you come here to search for spectres?" the bat asked.
"This is the most haunted place ever. Especially the most violent. Who wouldn't?" Elias replied.

"What about Marble Graveyard?"
"Too peaceful. Plus, there were a lot of innocent deaths here." Elias explained.
"Why do you like Sanctology or whatever? Trying to find a ghosty girlie? Or boy-ie, I don't mind." Cinos asked.
"I prefer living girls." Elias chuckled. "Um, why's your hair back like that?" he asked, noticing her hairstyle.
"I pull it back for adventures. Plus, it's not very feminine." Cinos answered.
They stopped to let Elias take Cinos' hairpins out and fluff out her bangs. They looked at each other as Elias held her cheeks, eyes, lips, and eyes.
"Did you guys forget about me?" Nic asked eventually.
"So is that nose in the shape of a heart or a peach?" Cinos asked Elias, completely ignoring Nic.
"I like to think it's the shape of a heart, yes." Elias responded.
"I'm guessing you have a bigger heart than that."
"Yeah, it's big enough to hold all the lovely feelings I'm feeling for you." Cinos chuckled and blushed. So far, today was shaping up to be a good day.
