They live in cold tempatures and live in close units called families.
They are long lived even living to to be fifty but grow slowly as well.
Because of their rariety they mate for life.
They have 'wings' but their bodies are dense in muscle so they are used more for gliding and controlled falls.
They have large chests, lungs and hearts. They're not fast but these advantages give them great endurance.
They hunt in alone or couples.

Kyters generally hunt large prey such as deer, caribou, and moose. They prefer to drop on their prey from above and break their necks. However they have long thumb claws to pierce thick hide and claws along their fore arms to hold onto their prey till they tire then finish them off with a bite to the neck severing the spine.
Kyters can howl alerting their families to kills and feed all.
The spines on their bodies are to protect from larger predaters like wolves and bears
