The best advice I can give for practicing realism, is to either take a picture of an eye, or look one up on the internet.
I'd love to encourage you to keep practicing whatever type of painting you like the most, and over time, you'll look back at what you once thought was your best, and realize you always improve.
Remember, "it takes a lifetime" to develope your talents. : )
