Areli's species dominates the planet he lives in, which is filled with biolumescent creatures and plants living inside a planet commonly shrouded in darkness. Their technology is old yet more advanced than in Earth since they do not want to ruin their nature covered planet.
Areli's mint green antenna/tail would emit light when surrounded in darkness, it would often create light shows in many colours to fit their mood/emotions. It also acts as communication used by almost every creature in his planet, added that to his telepathic ability-he would sometimes forget to speak and would use the other two instead to communicate.
Their purpose in Earth was simply for fun, he just wanted to go to a different planet for once and learn while he's at it. He is very curious about the living beings in Earth so he can get proddy and invade space bubbles without knowing it is rude unless told so.

O wow! He seems so cool! I love the back story about his planet! It's all so detailed!
