you ever think about how your ocs and the world your ocs lives in started? for me, my 7th grade english class had a super brief greek mythology unit where we had an assignment that said we had to "write an original transformation myth which describes why and how one of the olympian gods or godesses created something". i wrote mine about a super beautiful girl who lived in the town of Aves (ahem) and was confronted by Aphrodite and Zeus because distorted rumors had spread about how she was bragging about being prettier than Aphrodite. the girl's name was Cyg Nus (ahehehem) and Aphrodite attempted to turn her into a really ugly creature but she just ended up becoming a beautiful swan. *although* the cygnets (young swans) were ugly so it half worked out for her.
so Cygnus was technically my first oc (out of the ocs from Clad)! from that it developed further like Cygnus turned into Melody briefly and Melody was the protagonist and she was from Cynthasia, and then i separated Cygnus and Melody and now they have no relation and then a lot of stuff after that....anyways! i'm just thinking about Clad origins and how like if i didn't have that SUPER-short-two-week-unit on greek mythology i most likely wouldn't have a super stupidly complex world full of super stupidly complex ocs

the origins for my ocs are all really embarrassing imo...i made my very first oc in 3rd or 4th grade and she was basically a fan character for the videogame tales of symphonia.
i consider my story ruw to be like, my first "real" story thing and it was reaaaally heavily inspired by homestuck at first......

I readed it at all.
On where I'm, we have not to write about gods. We write about how the people would be happy, how to be happy, etc.
I love the way that you say, that the Oc's world should be. Not stupid.

my secret shame: my first original ocs, not fan characters, were self-inserts of me and my friends...thankfully they’ve changed a lot since then. the weirdest bit is how the oc originally based on my brother ended up being the one I identify with most nowadays! my actual brother...not so much.
