@Prndl is right! BamaGirl, you can custom your buttons. Since your left button isn't working, you'll need to customize it until it's fixed...
Here's the directions if you need help ^-^":

-Go onto Colors & click the options button
-You'll see something that'll say "left hand"/ "right hand". Right under it, there'll be an optoon that allows you to custom the controls. Click on that

-Click on one of the butons that say "A" or "Y" or "X" or "B"
And then click palette so you'll be able to go back to drawing ^v^

If you don't want to reconfigure that button, blowing in the button usually worked for the dsi.
