Just before Flowey turns into Asriel, the game closes. When you open the game, your save file true resets. But you cannot change your name.

Then the disappearances start.

Flowey doesn't introduce you to the underground. He is oddly absent.
The only time you meet him is in your first playthrough thru your corrupted game. He's waiting in the throne room.
"Let's play a game, Frisk."
He disappears and is never seen again.
