The pale one is The Tinkerer, an Orangeblood who joined the Highblood army, to be a scientist.
He did various freakish experiments on Lowbloods, alongside many other things for the Highbloods.
During a Rebellion raid, he was pretty much killed... But The Emperor hooked him up to a machine, that gave him an electric shock, to keep him doing manual labor.
Eventually, after enough shocks, his heart gave out and he collapsed, truely dead, still twitching from the electricity.
He's essentially a Zombie.
