okay so y'all may be wondering wth is wrong with his face/left arm

mk so i'm not going to get too in detail with this, but waaay back when the Griffin family began, (long before segi) the very first Griffin was best best best friends with a village peasant which is currently unnamed. blah blah blah the peasant wanted to achieve immortality and ultimate power and tried to overthrow and kill the popular and adored Griffin but failed blah blah a curse was put on Griffin's family in which his 1OOth generation would be slaughtered and betrayed by his dearest. This is what the unnamed peasant feared most next to death. Betrayal. Cody Griffin is the descendant of the almighty Griffin blah blah. So the peasant's plan backfired. Cody's father was supposed to m'urder Cody the second he laughed his first laugh-

it's midnight so i'm finishing this tomorrow

-but it backfired (haven't figured out why bc i literally came up with this all yesterday) so instead of Cody dying he got the permenantal scars (and his dad died too so.). These scars serve as reminders of how Cods has to go searching for the peasant (he's still alive i guess ??? idk man) as his life long quest. anyways the black splatters on his face are his father's blood which burned onto his skin and it was somehow posionous and disintegrated his eyeball/socket. this is permenant.
his s crewed up arm is under a curse which gives him the magical powers (which he has yet to discover the uses and mystery of) and also brings the bad vibes of the peasant. Whenever Cody is serously angered or p'issed, the dark magic in his arm takes over him, and controls him,, doing it's best to kill and/or seriously injure others. This part of Cody sprung out a lot when he was younger, but he'd only like, slap people or something. He's learned to control it better over the years, but once it-

-unleashed it's full fury at MY OTHER WITCHSONA KRYSTALIA YOOO. I actually had this planned out for ages. It was back when Krystalia and Cody were dating. (that's why they having matching familiars- Spells and Potions!! Cody got them For Krystalia's 15th birthday.) But anyways some shiit went down and Cody had his demon arm posses him and he seriously injured Krystalia. If it weren't for the Segi nurse, she'd be dead. They're not together anymore. I actually introduced Cody a while back on my doodle acc. You can see the pic in which Krystalia and Cods are holding their owls. #alifyocs <-- it's in that tag, i think. I forgot about Cody's scars in that pic tho.

the peasant loved blood and was a gorey person, and so since part of the peasant is inside of Cody (his scars), he often bleeds a lot from his normal arm and his chest. But no matter how much blood Cod loses, the magical arm keeps him alive. The peasant wants Cody to die in the cruelest way- betrayal (again lmao)---

so i mean, slit Cody's throat open and chop his limbs off. He'll mend either way.
He can't mend his feelings though.
he's been expelled from segi but Krystalia convinced Rosine to let him stay.
he's been very suicidal since bc he truly loved krys and he knows she'll never take him back after his little episode
but krystalia still secretly loves the shiit out of this guy so he hasnt died yet. (I FORGOT TO MENTION HE COULD DIE OF BETRAYAL OR OF EXTREME LOSS. his dad didn't count bc cody laughed when he was like 2 days old so how the bloody hell was cods supposed to remember his dad??)
but since they're still in love i guess they kind of broke the curse

cody normally goes by just 'Griffin' bc his x98 great grandfather was famous as hell bc the peasant was a serously dangerous villian at the time, and so cody is rlly proud of his heritage-

-and he only let's ppl he's close w/ call him by his first name.

he tries his best in school. he tries his absoulute best in all his classes which were specifically chosen for his quest. (except for broom PE)

whenever he's not thinking about Krystalia or his quest/the peasant/his scars, he's an all-around good-natured guy. he's funny and outgoing/extroverted but swears 99.9 '/. of the time he's talking but it's kinda cute so

he carries pre-made potions, his potions spellbook, potion ingredients, and his owl Potions at all times and no one knows why
he has black paint on his face to make him look like those cool football players-

*that green gem once belonged to the first Griffin, passed down from father-to-son for IOO generations
*he really likes reading
*stays up until exactly 4:2O am everynight bc he's a total d'ouche
