And then it slowed.

It wasn't instant, but gradually, there was just... no one else in front of her.

Now, its a hard thing to do, watching your brothers, sisters, and partial kin fall at your own quick hands.

But sometimes... sometimes the silence is even more painful. To remind you that you are truly and utterly alone.

Something rustled. Sharp brown eyes flicked back and forth; she thought she had been alone in this place... the faint thought that it may be just an animal arose, but she brushed it away, witdrawing her spear from her right shouder. Whatever made that noise... was way too big to be one of the creatures that prowled the undergrowth. Which meant something else was here, something else was following her.

She briefly thought of Vannie and her grip slackened. They had been separated... was she even alive? Would she be found, nothing but shattered pieces at her armored boots? She tried not to think about it and re adjuste herself, her plating making a dull clink as she did.

Another rustle. It was closer this time...but.. farther? It had moved, but she couldnt find the exact spot... she stepped backwards and turned to run when she came face to face, eye to eye with deep indigo spheres.

"Agh!!" She stumbled back, tripping over her feet, and landed on her back. The mass of purple shifted and dropped from the tree where she had been hanging, crossing the ground with quick, light steps, until she was in her face again.

"W-who are you!?" The darker screamed, searching furiously with one hand for her spear. The other didn't let her up, instead grabbing her searchig hand and holding it up to... play with? "Let go of me!"
