ok, so this might take me a bit. I dont quite remember how it goes, but heres a short excerpt from when Ice(still working on his name) first meets Water (also has no name yet). Basically 'Ice' first gained his abilities at the age of fifteen, at the time it wasnt anything prominent or noticable. by sixteen he began seeing signs of greater power, and left home at around seventeen for fear of losing control and keeping this ability a secret. he also left in search for someone whom might teach him what is happeing and how to control or cure it. This little excerpt is when ice first meets water. water is an elderly wise man/hermit. [NOTE: if you choose water as your element he obviously does not have to be old, this is just an example to show you how the elements live or/and interact with each other.]

Apon entering a small cabin to escape a heavy rain storm, ice is suprized by an elder man who welcomes him in...
Ice: "so... who are you?" Ice looked at the old gentelmen who wandered over to a dusty book shelf in the back of the cabin,
"Im an elemental, water to be presice" The old man reached up leaning on his cane and grabbed a large book off the top shelf, blowing off the dust he placed it on the table pushing it towards Ice, "and this is what we are".

Confused, ice approached the table and read the cover of the book, 'myths and legends of the 6 forces of nature'.
"forces of nature... you mean elementals? but.... thats just a childrens story, no one actually believes they exist?.. and what do you mean 'we'?"

"your an elemental like me, and whether you like it or not, those myths and legends are true. well, mostly true, humans like to make up some truths, like haveing a weakness to silver or light, bah. i have no idea where they got that notion from..."
Ice staggered back a bit as the old man continued to ramble to himself. /An elemental?/ Ice though, /Me?! Im only 15 i can hardly handle school let alone the resposnsibility of an element!/ He placed a hand on his head as if to steady himself. /No, this old guy is kidding... right?/

"There are 6 of us in total," the old man interupted ice's though process, and continued to ramble, "Its a good thing you ran into me instead of the other four. earth and fire, Espessialy fire, shes a bit of a hot head. always being overly competitive, has a bit of a grudge with the old ice as well... although i suppose they were opposites." he chuckled to himself. "Fire and earth have a bit of a working relationship. they hate each other, but they work together when need. Fire often brings forth the summer season and earth isnt far behind bring the plant life into bloom. Of course then they always end up fighting... fire causing drought to kill earths plants, and earth causing earthquakes in rebellion." old man water sighed " i always have to clean up there their mess with a cool shower.Earth is more of the strong silent type. although he hated the old ice as he was always wrecking earths flowers with a bit frost" the old man chuckled again.

Ice fell into a seat in the chair behind him as he continued to listen to the old man. it sounded like a fairy tale the way water went on about the different elements working together sometimes, but causing havoc for the most part.
"Wind and Electricity are the other two. Wind is a fairly nice girl. A bit of an airhead and a free spirit, but most of the time shes gentle and understanding. can be a bit tempermental though, one day shes a quiet breeze and the next shes a hurricane!" Water shuffled around the cabin tidying up as old man do when they haave company. "and dont get me started on electricity, mischevious little brat! why just yesterday i had scheduled a gentle rain fall for one of the nearby towns and he turns it into a great thunderhead! Poor people there were scrambling over themselves to find shelter!" water huffed. "hes alwas chasing after wind though, hes never too far behind her."

Listening to the old man let the information of being an elemental sink in as Ice gazed at the floor.
".... and... what about you... and the old ice... what was he,.. or she like?" Ice asked quietly, still a bit in shock.
The old man turned his attention back to ice and took a seat across from him. "Well. as you can see, im an old man now. im sure my time will come to pass and another will inherit my abilities. as for the old ice,... no one really knew much about him. he tended to stick to himself, and preffered to work alone. i met him a few times, but it was more in passing. i suppose he was reaching an old age and thats what led to his death, ..unless... nevermind."
END. sorry that was quite long. just sort of gives you an example of how they live, ect. also just ending it here as it goes on for quite a while, but thats a story for a different day. feel free to comment now and ask any questions you want, :)

this is sooo cool! and id really really really like to have one but since i dont draw on here much i have like no chance of winning... but if i did some how by a miracle win one i would definetly draw him on paper i can promise you that plus i need a new character to draw with so this would be awesome to draw, plus it would help me with my human practice! so i just really really hope i win/get one

p.s btw if i did win one(again i have very tiny flea sized chance of winning one) i would love to have one with the element of wind :)

@Jaslet - Sort of. They are normally just a mixture of already existing animals. But the humans make up rumors of mythical beasts when in reality they might have just caught a glimps of the elementals in their beast forms. For example, if a previous elemental took on the base form of a bird, and happened to be the element fire, the humans who caught a glimps of it in its beast form might have made up the legend of the phoenix, not realizing it was actually an elemental. same goes for other mythical creatures such as werewolves, firebirds, unicorns, pegasus, ect. They were all just previous elementals and their beast forms/element. not actual mythical creatures.

Oh, I see. It's really cool though, the idea of a big hybrid animal with element powers is awesome!

ill be doing some DTAs after #KjiceCon has ended so i know what elements remain. it ends jan. 22nd (maybe sooner, will see) so i should know around then. also they will probably be the only adopts i do of the elemental spirits as there is only one of each at a given time... I might do an adopt of each element once every year. but im keeping them quite rare. the only time i will be doing an adopt for them is if the previous owner of that element dosnt use them, or decides to not keep it anymore. (in which case the old chara of that element dies, and a new one is selected.) the Draw To Adopts will require a drawing (obviously) as well as a bit of backstory. ill post the first dta with more details around the twenty second.

@Suicune - your more than welcome to try for all of the DTAs, however if you win one you wont be eligible to win another.
-the elemental spirits apperance can be anything you desire. the element ability tends to connect more with personality than looks. although if you want to correlate their human design with their element you are more than welcome too.

i accually do have a question: i know this defeats the whole purpose of a dta but for your dta on these guys could it be possible, since i cant draw on here too good, is it possible that i could just create the back story and enter like that or....nah? again i know it defeats the whole purpose of a dta but lets face it i stink at drawing on a 3ds im alot better on paper but i just cant make it look good on here. so i was wondering if i could do that....

because it would be so cool to draw one on canvas! anyway, just thought id ask :)

@IraTheWolf - The elemental powers become stronger as they age, but control is only gained through training and experiance in using their elements. There powers reach full strength at around 25yrs of age, and stay that strong for life, however their full potential in using that power and controlling it depends on how dedicated that spirit is in learning and training.

Thinking outside the box is always helpful to the spirit as well as he/she may discover new ways of using said element. For example, fire normally melts ice, however if ice were to freeze around fire cutting off the oxygen supply, then fire would go out.
As far as strength goes all of the elements are equal. Often experiance or cunning decides the outcome of a battle. The opposite element does not always win.

@Yoshi 78 - ...Well i would prefer a picture as well, im mainly judgeing on creativity more than skill, and for the most part the backstory is weighed more than the picture. So sorry, but i would still like a picture for the DTAs, even if it is not a very detailed one. but note that i do take effort into consideration. so if you put lots of effort into your backstory you don't need as much in the picture, and if you put more effort into the picture you wont need as much effort in the backstory. Effort in both is a bonus. it just helps to show how much the character is wanted, regardless of skill.

@kjumper ok thanks i was wondering because i tend to put alot of effort in the backstorys, so ill try to draw best i can, im acually working on a backstory for one of my characters in my story im writing, One of my friends is very excited about it so ill have fun writing that. i already have a backstory for a wind element in mind!,anyway thanks for telling me (btw if you cant tell i want a wind element bad.)
