I did something like this in my art class but with my face, so I wanted to try it with my cat. To make one you take an image and outline noticable color changes in the subject. Next you choose a color and make three shades of it. Give each section its own color based on how bright/dark it looks in the picture. once the focus is done, paint the background in the complimentary color of the subject's color. Enjoy :D
