Trying to get away with something quicker today, getting as far as possible on limited time can be a fun challenge in and of itself.
Also, I should really paint more on lower lighting settings.

Wow, I'm very happy to hear that! General advice like that is always hard to give, I'd it's say as with any skill that it's mostly about making time to do it. Draw what you love and draw it a lot! If you have trouble figuring something out, don't be afraid to look up reference.
