Why hello, everyone! ^-^ I do so hope you enjoy this painting I threw together as much as I did finally putting it to digital canvas. 'Tis a depiction of a gray whale (I've been drawing a lot of them lately) and a garibaldi fish.
Also, I may start posting smaller doodles to this account, the frequency of them depending on school and life in general. Other than that, I might post a ref for Ianele, a relatively new orca OC I made a couple of months ago. #garibaldi #whale #sea #ocean #kelp #fish
The Colors! Gallery moderators will look at it as soon as possible.

Oh my... XD I just realized that it looks like the gray whale's kissing the fish. Shhhhh. It's on a quest to find its mate, who was transformed into a garibaldi >: 3 ...IDK. cx
26 Dec, 2015, 11:36 pm
Wow, this looks beautiful..!! QuQ I love the water markings on the whale's hide, and the plants add a unique atmosphere to this! (Sorry for the weird comment, I cannot english right now 'XD)
26 Dec, 2015, 11:40 pm
Thank you. ^-^ Gray whales are cool, aren't they? And yeah, garibaldi damselfish do look a bit like goldfish. They're the goldfish of the sea! Wait, the sea goldie is. cx
26 Dec, 2015, 11:41 pm
Thank you so much, Fady! :D Don't worry, I understand what you're trying to communicate. XD
26 Dec, 2015, 11:46 pm
Re: I'm glad you liked it! ^u^ Nauyaq sure steals a lot of attention in the collab... although, it's not every day that you witness a whale leaping out of a pink puddle, so who wouldn't notice? XD
But wow, you are an incredible author... even your comments sound amazing! >u<
26 Dec, 2015, 11:53 pm
Very true. cx And gosh, do they really? o: I'm quite grateful to hear that! ^-^
27 Dec, 2015, 12:35 am
Garibaldi fish are native to the giant kelp forests off the coast of California. And is that so? c: Goldfish are adorable. cx
27 Dec, 2015, 1:15 am
This is fantastically drawn. The lighting effects under water can be hard to do, but you done a wonderful job on them!
27 Dec, 2015, 1:54 am
The only pet I've ever had in my life was a brown betta fish I named Jolly. XD He died two days later when I was blowing bubbles (I was outside) and a few of them landed inside his tiny bowl. He suffocated due to the chemicals in the bubble soap (I was three, alright? XD). Poor guy...
27 Dec, 2015, 5:37 am
beautiful! :D
27 Dec, 2015, 8:03 am
Yay for doodles!
That's awesome! We'll have to Skype sometime when I'm alone at home. Or at night if you're up for a late night chat (I can stay up til even 2am my time!). And at least I could see my ex on Christmas eve. I wish I could be in his arms more. And go back to the good old times
I had a thought too. I can be the messenger for anything you and Monomo would want to talk about. I sent her a DM of your comment on Instagram. She says "Oh, cool! I'm glad to hear from her again. I can relate with the whole feeling of my heart melting, I'm very happy that I was able to reconnect with you guys"
27 Dec, 2015, 9:21 am
YUSS! cx I'll probably upload some of my cetacean anatomical studies and human doodles. I've improved a heck of a lot in comparison to that one 'human Mikahlii' sketch dump I posted two years ago. Males are much easier to draw now (Part of that is because I referenced several characters from the Ace Attorney franchise, and as a result, my main human style gives off a bit of a "Phoenix Wright" vibe. x3 ) and hands have started coming more naturally to me.
That's cool with me. ^-^ I can't wait!
And that DM idea of yours doesn't sound bad at all. cx I just probably won't be able to have a proper conversation until I can chat with her via notes on DeviantART or when I get a phone. Now, what to tell her... cx
27 Dec, 2015, 2:46 pm
Beautiful my friend!!
27 Dec, 2015, 5:09 pm
(OoPhoenixxX) Thanks! Much appreciated! ^-^
27 Dec, 2015, 9:17 pm
Humans don't come naturally to me but I've found that females are easier to me than males. And hands are one of the worst parts to it. How do some make them look elegant? Mine look blobby and disproportionate
Mono's second guessing deviantart but we were talking hypothetically about making our own cetacean art account. Ack if only we could do a 3 way Skype
27 Dec, 2015, 10:06 pm
Yeah, females are relatively easy to draw. As for hands, it helps to reference your own, to get a feel for basic construction and detail in an infinite amount of poses. I'm working on some sketches that I'll post of which will be viewable via playback.
Aw, man. xc But the cetacean art account would be cool. And 3-way Skype needs to be a thing! XD I respect how deeply Mono values privacy, though; I'm practically the same way.
27 Dec, 2015, 10:17 pm
cool!!
28 Dec, 2015, 7:54 am
(Sorry for Internet comment too lazy to go on 3DS)
Viewing playback might be useful. That's how I learned to shade via mono's playbacks.
I value privacy too. I like sharing little details about me but not so much as to risk safety unless I trust the person enough. Anyways, can't wait to Skype you. I also have Facebook
28 Dec, 2015, 4:13 pm
Oh wow, this is fantastic! :D Don't worry, it doesn't look to me like they are kissing, haha XD
I like how you put so much detail in the kelp, and the 3d is amazing! *u*
28 Dec, 2015, 4:17 pm
Thank you for your wonderful compliment, Echo! :D
28 Dec, 2015, 4:30 pm
And that's okay, Ceta. cx Yup, I suppose that's one way of doing it. Just don't be too reliant on other artists' work; they make mistakes too. I love referencing from life, for it gives you access to all your subject's dimensions and as a result enables you to draw proportions more accurately. And if it's a live subject, such as a cat or house sparrow, you can put your sketching speed and articulation skills to the test, as the animal may frequently shift its position or fly off unexpectedly. These studies usually comprise of gesture sketches, and often aren't very detailed (unless you can rely on your subject to hold still. This was easy for Leonardo da Vinci, as he studied human corpses... O-O ...And hey! look how he turned out! XD).
And yeah, I only give out my Friend Code to my closest friends, once I know I can trust them. I take several other precautions, as well. Also, yes, I'm looking forward to Skype! x3
28 Dec, 2015, 4:32 pm
I'll probably have it today, depending on how my dad feels (He's been even more under the weather than usual, lately. xc).
28 Dec, 2015, 9:20 pm
Oh, and I've thought of something to tell Mono. ^-^ I have been wanting to tell her for a couple of years, before she broke her 3DS. I found a couple of songs that remind me of her characters. I know not the extent of significance it will have to her now, but I hope she enjoys listening to them when she gets the chance. The instrumentals and lyrics of "Gravity of Love" by Enigma reminds me of Tallulah's backstory, and "Elven Kingdom," an epic Celtic score by Peter Crowley Fantasy Dream, suits the Halios Pod aboriginal legend (the one Mono made on the spot with Nimbus, the first dolphin, as its protagonist) so perfectly that I envisioned the entirety of it playing in my head.
29 Dec, 2015, 6:22 am
I do rarely try to copy real life pictures without tracing. But motivation to do so is low. Now I enjoy drawing my own pictures those times I do manage to draw. I could never draw a moving subject I don't think. Talk about needing quick reflexes
Take your time with Skype. I'll be busy at work tomorrow and the day after in the mornings to afternoons
I'll show monomo the screen shot of your message tomorrow when she's awake
30 Dec, 2015, 4:38 am
I gave Mono your comment. She says "Wow, both those songs fit great! "Gravity of Love" is really haunting and it does suit Tallulah and her story well. "Elven Kingdom" is stunning! It does make me think of the Halios pod and their legends."
One day I know we'll reunite
30 Dec, 2015, 4:55 am
Yeah. CX That'll be one of the best days ever.
30 Dec, 2015, 5:11 am
Re: It was a study. Shading and wholphin perspective practice
30 Dec, 2015, 11:36 pm
We are cetacean sistahs aren't we? Hmmm... I so want us three to meet up. It'll be one big reunion. If it were to happen we all should throw a party with lots of fish!
31 Dec, 2015, 1:21 am
Yeah, that would be epic! XD And lucky for Mono, I also play Star Wars Battlefront 2 (on the PS2 with my brother). x3
31 Dec, 2015, 6:40 am
I don't. So you two would have to show me how (and I still don't feel like logging on to the 3DS...) how does one break art block?
03 Jan, 2016, 3:44 pm
Re: Thank you for the compliment! I made good use of Nauyaq's ref when I drew her, with all the markings and all! XD But she is a beautiful OC nevertheless :)
05 Jan, 2016, 6:06 am
Whaley my love might be returning to me
06 Jan, 2016, 12:48 am
I do say. Last night he told me that he regretted breaking up with me and he didn't fight my affection (still no kisses...). He may be coming back with time. He was struggling the past couple months so maybe we'll go back after things settle a little more
06 Jan, 2016, 6:32 am
Cool! (About Skype)
And here's bits and pieces of the conversation I had with him through kik earlier today:
Me: I know. But you told me you might be regretting the breakup
Him: No. It's that you still love me even after what I did
Me: Of course I still love you
Him: But do I forgive myself.
Me: I don't know. Maybe time will heal. Just know that everyone makes mistakes
Him: I know
Me: That's how you feel? Like you can't forgive yourself?
Him: No. I'm just saying why would you want to take me back after what I did to you
Me: Because that's love. It doesn't need a reason. It just happens
And he says it's "still up in the air." Hopefully it'll be resolved
07 Jan, 2016, 12:23 am
Idk what will happen though. It feels like everything's changed from 3 years ago
08 Jan, 2016, 6:25 pm
I had a rough time late last night
09 Jan, 2016, 8:19 pm
I drank too much with Kevin and his two friends. I felt really nauseous when I got home
10 Jan, 2016, 7:58 am
Re: lack of motivation to draw and in general. Other places have taken my interest too plus I'm busy with work
Re×2: the slight hangover is gone all of today but the day before I could slightly feel it. Eh... I actually did vomit that night too... (and tmi: it was in my bed). I swear I'm never drinking again
10 Jan, 2016, 8:01 am
And man... gotta love back to school insomnia...
10 Jan, 2016, 7:06 pm
yeah, i'm mostly a male voice actor as well, even though i'm also female... i voice as spongebob (or at least try to...) X''D
11 Jan, 2016, 8:42 am
i love man-ray... X3 and yes, i got asperger's syndrome...
16 Jan, 2016, 7:05 am
Whaley. He cheated on me. No it wasn't just him considering a relationship with her. He got into a long distance online relationship with her. Then they broke up and he wants to go back with me if I want to. How he's texting makes it sound like he really regrets it (it's just a load of baseless words though right? Anybody can talk the talk). Thing is, I really don't know. I'm not sure if I want him in my life. He's a bigger fool than I imagined
19 Jan, 2016, 12:05 am
I've decided to forgive him for what he did. It shocked me some. But I realized he just made a grave mistake and he finally realized that fact. So now I can work with him on repairing our relationship hopefully
19 Jan, 2016, 7:36 am
Skype on Wednesday... I work Wednesday morning to afternoon and have plans for Skype with someone else Thursday around noon. So maybe late night weekends if you're willing to stay up late
19 Jan, 2016, 7:36 am
It also has a texting option too
19 Jan, 2016, 3:25 pm
Re: Thank you very much :) I'm glad you understand.
20 Jan, 2016, 11:01 pm
Did you get set up with Skype? I got a request from someone and want to make sure it's you
21 Jan, 2016, 12:22 am
Hmm wonder who this lolcute sweetfruitie person is then
21 Jan, 2016, 8:07 am
Tsuchi could be me in orca form! But instagram says she's a middle sister and I'm the youngest. Other than that, similarities abound-the birth year and the 2 brothers. Her pod is the same as Granny, oldest orca alive?
21 Jan, 2016, 7:26 pm
105 geez. Imagine meeting a human of that age
24 Jan, 2016, 8:21 am
Mmm... can't be helped. If it's set up by Monday maybe you'll be able to meet my Kevin too
31 Jan, 2016, 8:52 am
Thanks. And you should make an instagram account too! I won't imagine it being easy for you to upload but you would be able to communicate with us directly and have an account for future use. It's possible to use it on the computer too. Maybe even join Irukakai RP
31 Jan, 2016, 8:28 pm
Oh really...? > > geez... anyways I didn't know iruka meant dolphin spirit, just thought it meant dolphin
01 Feb, 2016, 1:30 am
Re: i watched it last night cause it was on. And hes my fave character and breed of dog OwO
11 Feb, 2016, 10:33 am
Re: Thank you! :) That means a lot to me!
17 Feb, 2016, 2:57 am
Re: yup! You may have your character have a sort of middle transformation . Also the vale islands are fairly far north. Often resembling a northern tundra. Sort of hilly area, with not too many trees. They get a bit off warmth in the summer, and snow does melt, but it's quite short. Kelton is more like an arctic expanse. Very cold, lots of snow
17 Feb, 2016, 3:25 am
Ooh, are you joining @KJumper's RP? How fun, I can't wait to see your entry! It'll probably be awesome! >u<
17 Feb, 2016, 5:58 pm
Re: Thank you so much for the compliment! :D That sounds so wise - and I suppose you're right. OuO
