Honestly, think of it like this:
If they unfollowed you, they probably didn't ever comment on pics or like them, so they weren't really even there in the first place. They were just a number, and you didn't really lose anything. :)
It's sort of sucky, but other people who do care about your art will come and follow you! Just you wait! :D
