so why did Ivette give up her bio daughter to become a sort of magic slave? is that common in their culture? also I love her dorky ears!

@Rax Well, Ivette was in a relationship with a magi, Ros, whom she bought to free him from his abusive master (which is ironic since she's kinda abusive). Her parents would definitely not approve of that, so when she had Poppy, she sent her over to her brother. Ivette's waiting until her parents die off to tell Poppy about this whole thing and take her in again. Poppy's in good shape (unlike Frio, who's missing an arm) because Ivette would maul her brother if anything happened to Poppy.
