Downsides to these plans:

1) Some people might feel left out (for not receiving any #css gifts), which... unfortunately, is unavoidable. You people reading this, remember that just because you haven't gotten any fanart/gifts doesn't mean anyone is trying to be a jerk or hate on you or anything like that. And it's not because you're a bad artist, either. Speak up, if needed. Plenty of people out there that are willing to listen (even so, be careful about that too). Be courteous toward others, and they may very well do the same in turn.

2) Some people will think they can't participate because "they're a ____ artist" and only draw such and such. To those people, why not try stepping out of your comfort zone a bit and practice drawing things you don't normally draw? Who knows, might learn something new in the process.

Both excellent ideas. Would it be a consideration to do things sort of the same as previous years where everyone posts an entry pic which includes what they will draw along with what they want, but have people choose partners? I know there are plenty of downsides to that as well, but it's a suggestion. Also, I may have overlooked it, but I don't believe that I've been paired up with anyone yet. Sorry for the internet comment. My 3DS can't connect to the wi-fi where I am.

It is something to consider, yes. Other suggestions are also welcome, of course. I wonder how next year might go?

Isnt that how CSS was last year? Random pairings and, at the end, people volunteered to gift those who received nothing in return? Also, last year's host just went with "cannot draw" to match some, I think.

I think that sounds good- Then it's less effort for everyone and people can draw who they want and as many as they want? Of corse, some people might post for it only to get art and not give...And I'm sure the ones left out there would be that nice person(People) who found out them all and drew them one.

Hey CatBagel! If you have people who couldn't be paired up with anyone or their partner dismissed them, I can always do an art trade with them as well! I don't want anyone feeling left out! ^-^ If they're sad, send 'em my way! (Yes, I am already paired up, this is just for volunteering/helping purposes) :3

I have a problem too, my partner @button is going through a hard time I think, and is becoming extremely in active. I've left several comments on her paintings telling her that I am her CSS partner, and she has not even gave me an "okay!" To let me know she has seen my comments.
