Welp, one tip on making a comic is that you need to make sure that it has a solid story that will keep the readers engaged. Anthor tip is, do not make "Mary Sue" or "Gary Stu". These are characters that do EVERYTHING PERFECTLY!! People usually DON'T like these characters because they always take the spotlight. People also don't characters because readers themselves cannot relate to the character. It's REALLY hard to relate yourself to a character when NO ONE is perfect but that character is! I mean, like if you tried archery for the first time, you won't be perfect! If readers are able to relate' connect to the character, they'll feel for that character if something hapoens to that character, which will make the reader engaged in your story.
And one last thing is try to surprise the reader with something that they didn't expect to happen, like a weak character becoming suddenly strong, or a character, that disappeared for a long time, comes out of nowhere
