By 'the pixely thing,' which I assume you're talking about the decreased quality of paintings in some cases...
With red and the negative of that color ( a bluish-green on the opposite side of the circle)... certain colors on the Colors! wheel when you paint, pixelation occurs in paintings that use such colors. To get around this, one can watch the playback of a painting for improved quality (though all paintings look better after having done so, regardless of whether or not they used pixelating colors).
