Of all the races in the galaxy, Benthians are the most diverse. Benthians can have basically any hair and eye colour, with unnatural bright neon shades being very common. Benthians also have a very wide range of appearances, stemming from their genetically modified ancestors who developed a way to combine human DNA with fish DNA to survive in a mostly water-covered planet.
Aspects: Water, Ice, Cure
Biology: Benthians are a fairly tall race, due to deep-sea gigantism, with both males and females at an average height of around six and a half feet. Benthians have extremely good eyesight, and most have good night vision as well.
A Benthian’s sense of hearing is phenomenal- Their large ears are designed to detect vibrations in the water, and can pick up frequencies that non-Benthians cannot hear naturally. They are sensitive to the touch.
Benthains take on the abilities of the fish DNA they have. For example, our shark Benthian can detect electromagnetic fields, allowing him to sense any living thing he can’t normally see, and our seahorse friend can change colour whenever she wants.
Benthians have developed very strong legs, due to their necessity to swim. They’re also good jumpers.
Benthians are amphibious, having both lungs and gills, but they have to stay hydrated out of water.

Fashion: Fashion is extremely important to Benthians. Elaborate designs and bright fabrics are a key component to clothing, with golden embellishments. Clothes in Benthos have a traditional Japanese flair.
Medicine: Benthos is known for its doctors. In fact, pretty much everyone in Benthos works in the medical field one way or another. The economy heavily relies on trading of medicines to the other planets for equipment.
Politics: Disputes in the past have been solved peacefully through negotiations and trades. Government business is taken care of in the central hub of Benthos’ capital. A representative of all of Benthos is elected every 30 years through a rite of passage in the outer districts.
A common misconception is that all Benthians are vicious monsters, leaving many outsiders wary of what goes on beneath the water. As a result, Benthians mostly keep to themselves unless absolutely necessary.
Religion: Benthian spirituality is based on obtaining happiness and peace, and connecting to the ancient past. Similarly to Hervitan beliefs, Benthians believe all things possess a divine energy called kami. It is based heavily on Shrine Shinto, with there being many public shrines dedicated to worshipping certain kami and gods.
Cuisine: Benthian cuisine is well-known to most of the galaxy. It consists of rich seafood dishes and traditional Japanese food.
Language: Benthians speak, read, and write in Japanese.
Culture/Geography: Benthian culture is primarily Japanese, with a few hints of Chinese and Korean. The capital of Benthos is heavily based on Tokyo. Benthian music is often electronica, with a noticeable traditional Japanese flair.

Those are some pretty skilled people. And average height is 6 feet XD Wow. Nice work! One question, I see a tree there, but it looks like they're underwater at the same time.
