Sparx is not a bad guy by choice, he is a bad guy b/c it was the only way for him to support his single mother who has early alzheimer's.
Sparx now has to take care of her, even though she doesn't even recognize him. She often tells Sparx about her young son, which she doesn't know is him, and still believes he is a child.
This is very difficult for Sparx and he puts on a happy face as best as he can.
