Out of curiosity, just what on the DS wears out on you?
You can always get reconditioned/used ones fairly cheap. I'd hate to see you stop posting. Your stuff is amazing and really educational for noobs like me.

I shift the painting to a spot that is comfortable for me, ergonomically, and that spot where I paint becomes corrupt (I guess) and pixels shoot out in all directions. Very frustrating because I have to go back, numerous times, to touch those areas up.This has happened with 3 DS's I've owned.
I guess the area where I work gets worn out. I'm looking forward to the new DS that comes out soon, so maybe I'll invest in one of those.

How long did this take you? And are you an artist of some kind or is this just a hobby?

I work on these things off and on. Sometimes I'll start one and not touch it for a month. I haven't painted one for a couple months now.
I felt bad for all the kids going over to Afghanistan so I went on a bit of a run.
Sometimes I paint on a plane trip across country and that's about 5 hours. This one was done on one of those flights.Take away the breaks and it's about 4 1/2 hours. Some are much harder than others and take longer. Some don't make it to the site at all.
I am a professional artist and have worked in the film business for many years.
Colors is a fun challenge as it so basic.

wow it gives me inspiration to draw unfortunately I can not draw well, but this drawing is the best I do not know how you did on your DS (I own a DS), but you draw so beautifully well done!
