Zootopia by Larka

So anyways, a new Disney film called Zootopia is arriving on March 4th, 2016. Here I include my veiws and theories on the rising controversy that is bubbling up. Please tell me what you think......

NOTE: You may not loudly "hear" of rumors of controversy as of currently, but BELIEVE ME when I say that these soft winds betray a massive hurricane fastly approaching! I just hope I'm wrong!

Controversey?

Huh. I haven't heard any, but I heard about this movie a few months ago.

Honestly, anthropomorphic is the correct term to use, so whatever about that.

Tbh, I doubt Disney made it with furries in mind.

imo, it's just a cute (AND AWESOME) movie about furries (essencially,) but not necessarily made with them in mind. (Ok. A Furry is just an anthro animal, so you get what I mean, right?)

People shouldn't lose their sh!t over it. It's just a movie.

.-.

it's DISNEY WHAT DID THEY EXPECT? Disney has had furries F O R E V E R.
Mickey, Donald, Goofy, etc. Basically all furries X'D

and also HAHAHAHAHA 360-Dorito-Lord

omf i love it

I feel like it's a revial of the animated talking animal genere. Classics like Robin Hood, Fox and the Hound, freakin Lion King, Jungle Book for example did not get such contraversy

I am sort of mixed. This seems like it will be the sfw side of the furry fandom, where I tend to deviate towards, but go to the nsfw part of the time. Depending on how this goes, maybe we won't be seen as rejects.

NOTE: Just to clear things up, this controversy is NOT about the content or essence of the film itself, rather on the reactions from the various clashing demographics. See there is a very rabid reaction to anything slightly "anthropomorphic" these days and the news media is gleeful to make mountains out of molehills any chance they can get. Using past Disney movies as an example is a BAD comparison to now, due to the fact that those were all created way before a certain fandom was created. What was once "fair-for-it's-day" is now considered a no-sell for many people today, just like how old films once could get away with showing EVERYONE smoking cigars indoors without any negitive press. This seriously wouldn't be an issue if it were not for the rabid-extreme reactions from all sides that will sure to clash once it releases. Truelly sad indeed.....

That's a bit much- XD Anthromorphic animals have existed before the term "Furry" anyways. Though Furrys are the reason I won't make my sona anthromorphic.........Too much hate. (I don't mind furry's just not the nut ones I've encountered jfc) It's like loony toons and c.rap, geez. I feel I can't say "I love talking animals" without "OMG FURRY!!!11" being screamed now days. There's a diffrence between anthromorphic animal's in movies/art and people running around dressed like an animal. It isn't "Noticing furries" because they DID NOT exist first. Talking animals has ALWAYS been a popular concept since way back. People shouldnt think "Furries" when they see talking animals, it makes everyone seem kinda dumb :/

And they already have LOADS of talking animal's anyways (Hello, their MASCOT?) why is this new is my point, why do people care suddently? I feel if most the Furries didnt go, i'm going to be mean and say, "Stupid mode" no one would care. They should NOT have started saying what they did. They should know better that it's always been made, the movies like that. They did something very negative imo :/ They brought the negative attention to themselves.

I think this has already been said, but Disney's always been kinda "furry", I think before the term was invented. Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy? All of them are animals, and the list of Disney "furry" characters could go on for a long time. I think that some people just don't realize that Disney's pretty much done this before (Robin Hood, anyone?) So, it shouldn't be a big deal about the movie being about "furries" (which I know it is, sadly. I'm not denying it.) The big deal about this film should be the same as any other- will it be good or not, regardless of the "furry" characters? I hope those people making a big bad deal about "furries" get it through their thick skulls- it's a movie. Why should anyone make a big boo-hoo if the characters are human-like animals?

And, as a person above me said, tales of talking animals have been around definitely MUCH longer than furries were around. Myths/legends (Native American, Ancient Egyptian, etc.), fables (like Aesop's- The Tortoise and the Hare, The Fox and the Grapes, etc.), the Bible even! I'm not religious, but sheesh...nobody reads about the talking snake in the beginning and screams "OMG LOL FURRIES WROTE THIS!" So, honestly, nobody should really scream "FURRIES" like Crocker (Fairly Odd Parents) screams "FAIRIES!" because there is literally no point and it makes everyone want to slap you. This whole controversy shouldn't be happening, it's not "furries" in a positive or negative way. It's not "furries" unless it literally says "yes this movie is furries", which is not at all what they said. They said anthromorphic (sorry, I spelled it wrong) animals! There really is a difference, furry may usually mean anthro, but anthro doesn't necessarily mean furry. Everyone needs to hold their horses!

And I know you said something about times changing with the older movies and things, but it's pretty rare for me to see rude comments about "furries" on those older movies because many people, including furry-haters, grew up on them! So, furry-haters need to just realize it's kinda like those older movies, as in kids may grow up with it, and just stop. And if furries wear fursuits when they go watch it, let them do so! However, at this rate, I'm not sure any will- so many furry-haters, who knows what could happen? I just hope that, overall, nobody gets hurt from this entire thing, because I'm pretty sure the movie's at least sort of about getting along. (I mean, y'know, with the whole fox and rabbit thing- I'm sure they need to find out how to get along.) So, basically, everyone should stop both ways until the movie is released, at the very least.
