Zak was brilliant, learning mechanics, magic, and even ways to blend the two BY HIMSELF by age three. By age eightteen, Zak went off on his own to start a mercenary band called SteamGear. Zak brings to combat a diverse range of weaponry and skills. Zach is very skilled at hand to hand combat, and is almost unmatched in Lightning based magic. He has several weapons of his design, his favorite: Galvanizer. Galvanizer is six and a half ft. long, and weighs in at over four hundred lbs. A single swing can split in half almost everything in his range. He can even swing so fast, he can deflect bullets with it. It also contains a magic-tech power core, a source of limitless energy. The sword can emit lightning magic, split open to create a laser sword twice it's normal length, and can even release a lazer so strong, it can disintegrate a mountain. Zak also uses several pistols with several ammo, knives, bombs, a blunderbuss the size of a cannon, a grenade launcher and several magic tomes.

Zak is carefree and jokingly humorous around his friends, but can be grim, even merciless to his foes. His group of mercenaries includes Tia, the Psycopath, Kai, the Djinn, Aria the Bloodwolf, Smiles the Scarecrow and Voko the Imp.
