Gyro was a boy growing up I'm the land of Pebble. One of the "4 pillars" of the continent. The other pillars being Droplet, Gust, and Ember. Gyro ran away from home at a young age, due to an abusive father, and a neglectful mother. The way his parents treated him gave him the edge he has today, but everything else came to him when he ran away. A few days on the street he had to get food. His method, was to steal it. He found that he was good at slipping food through his pockets when no one noticed. One day, at the age of 15 he was pick pocketing some civilians and he jacked some coins from a woman, looking around her early 20s. She chased after him as he figured he'd be screwed if he was called out. He thought he outran her as he made it into an alley but she beat him to it. After getting caught she told him that she was impressed with his work. She brought him to her home which looked more like a cave than anything. It turned out she was a master thief herself. She had a crew of men and women who were her family instead of a crew. Gyro was interested and under the woman (named Kasumi)'s wing, he became even better at what he did. The next year he improved enough to be trusted with one of Kasumi's daggers, named ruby. Even when he was entrusted with it he still was rude and almost lecherous with Kasumi and the other girls at the group of thieves. Kasumi put up with it, knowing that he can learn to be better, he just needed motivation. Years went by as Gyro grew up to be a dashing young man. At 20 years old he's only been caught by people who were knocked out and he couldn't be identified. His only flaw, his pride and ego. He ended up pulling a heist with Kasumi in a very dangerous land in droplet. The item was a relic two pearls, a red one, and a blue one, held by a very violent group of thiefs and crooks, and whether it was a faulty tip setting up a trap, or a mistake on either thiefs part, the alarm system, was tripped. Gyro and Kasumi ran as far as they could. They went into a basement looking place. Finding a way out through a doorway, but it was slowly shutting. Gyro tried to stay back to fend of the guards. Kasumi told him "Set your pride away and just run!" Gyro refused so Kasumi grabbed him and threw him out under the closing gate. He rolled out and as Kasumi tried to go through it shut. Gyro tried to break the gate but to no avail. What happened then? No one knows. Kasumi and Gyro were the only ones to go on that trip. Gyro was the only one to come out. The guild of thieves asked him what happened to Kasumi. Gyro said nothing and only showed that he held Kasumis other daggar, Sapphire. They took the daggar and held it in her room as a memorial. The relic they were after? Gyro lost it, neither group of thieves had it anymore and people have said that these relics were brought to the Pebble museum. Since the failure he had been silent, talking to no one, but whenever a female would walk by he'd bow in respect and say "hello" or "good day/afternoon/evening" everyone was curious about what happened. A few weeks later he was back to his happy prideful self. The only thing people noticed was different was when Gyro would walk by a girl, he'd be polite. Not rude, not perverted, just polite. A month after that he left. With no trace. The other thieves were outraged, as the only thing he took was what was most dear to them. Both of Kasumis daggars. Now, Gyro is a thief on the run from the law, and his former teammates. Maybe a green haired traveler will bring him some closure.

Why is gyro so hot-*brick*

Let's see
What makes these daggers so special? Is it because they have the jewel in them or because they belonged to someone of importance? Or maybe they have special power?

@Dragoon-The daggars are important to Gyro and the thieves because they belonged to their leader Kasumi. The Daggars have no special power, but read the Gyro comic and you'll see what the jewels do

@souler- Actually, even after what happened he's still greedy. He's only using Skylos popularity to get cash. But his view on it may change down the line
