Because it would have been an extra charge and hassle to continue to care for the dog. It is up to the owner to nurse them back to help after service. Remember, animal clinics and hospitals are totally different. No worries though, it's from the virus that he has lost so much weight. As long as you have been given instruction on what to do, he'll be fine. Bullies are tough; be sure he gets plenty of water and put him on a ground meat diet if he doesn't gain the weight as quickly. Puppy milk also helps.

Just be happy that puppy of yours is alive. Bad veterenary service or not, that dog's a fighter.
