"Already on it!" Pyro immediately dashed up from behind when she heard Agate's call. Stupid fusion... She jumped up, and brought her sword back down upon the large monster's head, effectively catching both of their gems. it reared back in pain and began to split as Pyro landed.

"Amateurs..." she scoffed as she twirled to face Agate. "How was that?"

Gold could be seen duking it out against a Chrysoberyl... And Howlite wasn't far behind, using her Diamond Shield to bash anyone who got too close to her smaller friend.

(Oi, okie o3o I'll try. I actually have quite a bit of work I need to do tonight, so... I'll be up late e3è"

A small green gem, with olive hair, clung to the edge of where she emerged. She was up so...so high... It was dizzying. She sat back and poked at the small crystal in her stomach. It didn't feel 'complete' per say... But it wasn't like she could do much now that she was awake.

"O-oh, uhm...I'm fine!" she winced at the sound of her own voice... It wasn't pleasant, a little squeaky. Hopefully that will change in time, she thought as she held the wall and half climbed, half slid down, avoiding other holes on her way. She landed softly in some dust, and it puffed up around her. "Wh-where...?"

"...Me too." she said rather dully. "It looks like everyone else did too..." referring to the other gems...

"Same here..."

"U-uhm...Epidote... I think... Yours?"

"Sorry! I thought it was gonna hit you guys." she ran over and caught her weapon mid stride. Pyro simply facepalmed in the middle of a sword swing.

"Shit!" in her moment of distraction from the emblem, another gem tossed Pyro across the field. "Guys, we gotta move!"

Gold retreated immediately... Howlite glanced briefly at Beryl, and caught her. "Gotcha." she whispered. "You'll be okay..."

"Agate, come on."

"Come here." she tugged one of Agate's arms over her shoulders and helped the weaker gem along. She herself had been hurt...but she wasn't fucked up to the point of it being immensely problematic.

"Yeh yeah, we're on it...what are we even doing?"

"Oh, um...alright. Warp or by foot?"

"Fine." Pyro shot her a look behind her back and flipped her off momentarily after she walked past. Gold made an annoyed face at her but was ignored as both stepped on the warp, and disappeared.

Pyro landed in the kindergarten alongside Gold... The liveliness surprised her.
"I guess they did all wake up..." Gold looked on in wonder. Pyro hopped off.

"C'mon, we gotta round up these guys." she spoke in a dull tone...she would've rather fought than do this...

A few moments passed...it gradually got louder and more bustling as they moved forwards.

Gold stepped down as well and cleared her throat. "Gems!

I know you all may be confused as to why you are here, and what you are...uhm...." she cowered back once the attention was on her. "P-Pyro?"

The longer haired gem sighed and stepped forwards. "Look, each and everyone of you is special, and we want you to understand that. Welcome to our giant um...group. I mean...a group that fights alot, but still, a group.
All of you were specially born here to join us. If you have any questions, or would like to leave... Well, my names Pyro, and this is Gold." she gestured to her red partner. "Don't hesitate to approach us."

"...hi. This is the Kindergarten, essentially your place of birth." she looked over the gem and sniffed. Taller...despite being younger.

Epidote, meanwhile, was staring at the other's milling about...trying to see if any were like her.

"You were born specifically for uhm...fighting, mostly. Everyone here was. We're going back to the battlefield soon. Each individual will be given a briefing on what they can do, and their weapon...whether you do well or not is decided by how you use that knowledge."

Gold nodded along. "Quite a few new gems have been utterly destroyed because they didn't listen to the briefing or their instinct. But yes, that's where we're headed."

(True...they might not know that though. The ones who would know would probably tell them at the camp, like "No, you get to stay here, your skills are needed more here than out there." in this case, the Peridot would be the one to tell them.)

"Likely yes. It depends on what the briefers say. You may have different skills that are needed elsewheres...
Besides... You look too scrawny to do any real fighting."

"Pyro!" Gold whispered harshly. "That's rude!"

"Y-yeah!" Epidote stepped up and stood in a similar postures beside Gold.

Pyro sniffed, ignoring Gold's quip. Though she did try to lighten up a bit.. "We'll see. It's up to them, not us. If that's everyone..."she glanced around. "I say we could head back now."

"Through the warp... behind us." Gold glanced backwards to the large disk embedded in the ground. More gems began to crowd around, and she raised her voice a little. "I-It can only take so many at a time, but it's very quick, and easily used."

"Once you get there, there will be other gems to tell you more." Gold called out to some of the warping groups, who just hardly heard. She then sighed. "Why did they put us in charge of this again."
Pyro sniffed but said nothing...but did observe Star from her peripherals.

(It's so weird to write this because like...they know eachother and have gotten damn close to doing it so my brain is like...whu)

"... I'm gonna go help some of them." Golf finally moved, away from the group and towards the Warp, helping any stragglers. Epidote followed, glancing momentarily at Star, before hopping off...and getting run into by another gem about her size and stature, except this one was orange. They began squabbling...
Pyro still stood, but glanced around, checking to see if there were any that hahadn't been listening...

"...You should probably join them." she said without looking over.

"I'm staying a little longer to see if anyone got left behind." she shrugged, again without looking. "There's always a few..."

She glanced over in suprise, which was her first mistake... "U-uhm...yes? I mean...if you're sure."

"Alright then..." she shook herself briskly and began walking away. "East side usually has some late hatchers..." she said mostly to herself. She stared up at an injector before continuing.

They walked for a while, all the time Pyro avoided eye contact. They found a few gems, none were particularly hurt, just confused. She sent them on their way, back towards the Warp...

Then they hit the edge. Beyond the dull powder and stones, there was a wheat field, set aglow by the dying rays of the setting sun.

"This is the edge... There aren't any beyond here."

"Get back here!" she sprinted across the field and tackled her to the ground, one hand over her mouth.

Voices could be heard distantly...she held Star there until they faded, the shook her head. "Don't do that again.

And by the way, it's a plant. Gems call it yellowseed, but it probably has another name..."

"It's not the dancing." she murmured. "If those guys had seen you we would've both been screwed. No questions asked. They were our enemies."

"Rebels." her voice was bleak. "The idiots fighting to defend this planet. They say they fight for justice-" she spat. "But they kill in cold blood! I don't see the point, it's just a planet. We need it more than any other 'possibly sentient race' does."
She looked back at Star, and suddenly annoyance flashed through her. "Come on! We don't have all day." she turned back to the dull hills.

"..." Pyro turned back and spat the name, as if it were poison.

"Rose Quartz.

After doing a quick once-over of the areas near the warp, she stepped on.
"Come on, you'll be fine." she snapped. Apparently her emotions from earliet hadn't settled yet...

They warped away...and reappeared in a much more crowded camp.

"All of them are here, it seems..."she had to raise her voice a little to be heard. "Go talk to that gem, she knows what you are." the gem in question was another Peridot model who had been freed up. "She's got attitude, but don't mind it. All of them are like that. Just listen carefully to what she says."

"...sure. Come on." she walked further away, to a larger warp. "This one is the Homeworld warp."

"It looks...nice." she hesitated. "It's being industrialized, because of the influx of new gems, but untouched areas are quite pretty."

"...No. The soil type isn't rich enough to cultivate it." she sniffed. "Believe me, they tried."

"I...could..." she shrugged, looking away. "I'll clear it with one of them. I could use a break." she went over to tap a Peridot on the shoulder, made a few hand gestures while explaining, before promptly getting a yell of "WHATEVER!" she then ran back, an annoyed look on her features.

"Dumbass technician! Let's go already."

"It's not important." she growled, and flipped off the Peridot subtly. "They think they're allllllll high and mighty but I could have one of those bitches /cowering/ at my feet! Now let's go."

Pyro stepped on, and looked at Star as they teleported to Homeworld...

"You get used to it after a while." Pyro spoke rather monotonously. She had seen this place too many times to count. "I guess it can be a little awe-inspiring for some though." she hopped off. "Come, we don't have all day, and I may need to get back soon."

She led her down multiple hallways, explaining rather shortly that within time she'd be able to find her own way around, before arriving at the tech bay.
"Here it is." she stood by the doorway. "Good luck, you'll need it."

She started. "W-what?..." she then pulled her hair around her defensively. "No, I haven't considered it... but thank you?...I think?"

Pyro was seen in the mess hall... In the few years, she had changed drastically... After some time, the short hair thing had begun to bug her, so the next time she had to regenerate, it had been chopped short. It was honestly easier, and far more efficient, and she grudgingly commended Star for thinking of it.

She went over to a counter, and a gem-Epidote actually, who had seen her approaching- handed her a small glass of iced tea.

"You know me too well." she mock scowled.

The smaller green gem mimicked her scowl. "Not really, I just know you're addicted to that stuff." she shot back.

They both stared for a moment, then began laughing.
"Thank you."

"Yeah, whatever." Epidote turned back to her work, and Pyro walked away to sit down at a table by herself.

(I think I already told you but, Epidote's do mimicry, and can and will imitate any gem, but usually a gem they've known long enough.

Ex. If she were with Pyro, meeting a new gem, she would automatically mimic Pyro.
When she's around both Gold and Pyro though, the personalities clash in her head, therefore creating a mix of both.

It's sortof empathy as well, she can pick up on a few things, merely to imitate better.
If i told you all this already, I'm sorry o3o" it's just I developed her type of gem completely from a description I found online, before I designed her.

Epidote had just finished rreorganizing the various foods behind her, when she caught sight of Star.
"Hey!" she called out, disappearing into the back, headed towards the exit of the small area. Her voice had changed, it was different, deeper now. She came out and hopped over to Star. "Wowee! It's been so long! What have you been up to? Why are you messy? And why are you different??" she squeaked, glancing at the skirt.

Pyro overheard, but didn't think anything of it...

Epidote nodded to where Pyro was sitting alone. "I assume that's the one you're looking for?~"

"...she is." Epidote looked at Star as if she had gone mad before realizing- Pyro had looked that way for a few years, and she may not be recognizable to anyone that hadn't seen her in a while.

"Oh! That's why!" she laughed to herself. "Pyro! Come here!"
The dark gem was startled, and she turned around, about to give Epidote an earful when she saw the other gem there. Saving the rant for later, she stood up slowly and joined them.
"What do you want now, pipsqueak?" she joked, still eyeing Star... She looked vaguely familiar.

"Yellowseed..." she grunted, deep in thought. "Right, right right, you were the gem who almost got us caught." she narrowed her eyes momentarily before shaking her head. "I don't quite remember your name though? Sorry."

"Ah, yes... And yeah, I did." she muttered. She wasn't about to admit that the other gem's words had nagged at her until she did it.

"It's...different. Much more efficient in battle, I don't get caught by the hair as easily anymore." she admitted grudgingly. "...Thank you for the suggestion."

"Uhm...thanks?" she shook her head briskly and looked away to hide the small tinges of blue that had appeared on her cheeks. "What...what are you doing up here anyways? Did you finally catch a break?"

"Oh, alright..." her eyes dulled, and she stared into the distance, she was obviously thinking about the war. Epidote noticed this and immediately emulated her personality.
"Pyro!" she snapped her fingers in front of her face, and flicked her nose. "Come on, back to the present!"

She shook herself and glared. "Flick my nose one more time and you'll be in medical care for /days/." to which she got a childish giggle.

After standing, dumbfounded, Pyro ran off to hide away somewheres, drink forgotten, and Epidote got back to work behind her part of the counter.

"Alright~" she hurried off to the hallway, leaving Star in her own silence...

After a while, she reappeared with Goldstone on her tail. "Here we areeee~"

Epidote pulled up a chair for herself, and Goldstone sat herself down rather roughly across from Star and rubbed her eyes. "Sorry. Monitors and all making my eyes burn. So hey!"

"Yes, that would be me. Epidote told me who called- you're that curious Black Star Sapphire?"

Some time passed, then the three could be seen at Pyro's door. Gold knocked thrice, to which she got a response of 'go away'.

"Pyro I swear to Yellow Diamond if you're in there hurting yourself-"

Gold pinched the bridge of her nose, and then backed up against the opposite wall.

"Agate, alright?!" she loomed up from her blanket, a shadow cast over her eyes. "Agate."

"Agate, or Agate Black Stone. Pyro knew her for an eternity. They fought together, ate together, and were inseparable. Pyro...loved her, per say.

Agate was shattered in the war. She's gone now. Do you understand?" she muttered the last part, as if she was quietly chastising Pyro.

"I never told her." the muffled voice rose from the blankets. "I never told her and now she's gone."

"..." Pyro didn't answer, other than a half hearted shrug to try and remove the other gem.

Epidote finished tapping into her emotions... And immediately began to cry herself. Gold looked around helplessly, before deciding to just wait...the new code could wait till later

"Yeah, probably..." she hiccuped and stared dully at the wall...

"...T-thanks." she rubbed one eye with her fingers, trying to rid herself of the stinging sensation. "I...I just need to be alone for a while if that's...fine..."

Gold looked up, surprised, as she picked up Epidote and held her. "You mean... You don't have your own place? Did you even /leave/ the tech bay?"

"Noooo... " Gold facepalmed with one semi free hand. "Oh whatever, you can stay with me." she hoisted Epidote up to get a better grip on her, and began to leave the room.
"I'll um...I'll have Rhodonite come and fix your door."

"..../thank/ you."

Pyro didn't move, instead she continued staring blankly at the wall...

Gold exited, and waited for Star to do so as well before closing what remained of the door...

"It's downstairs a bit. I'll take you down there, but I'll have to get Rhodonite to fix this...again..." she stared at the dents and cracked material. "Unless you feel like hitting up the Tech Bay again."

"Alright then, come on."

They descended to the lower levels, and after dropping Epidote off at her own place, they headed down to the lower floor, where the Tech Bay was.

"I'd assume you'd know her, she works down here too. It's mostly just small fixes she does, or fixes more related to the wiring and electrical pieces."

"Good good."

Rhodonite was seen bent over the large wires of a flagship.. She grunted in triumph as finally, electricity began to run through them again.

"Finally." she stood up straight, and brushed the one long strand of hair out of her face. "Now that that's done..." she whirled around to a small control panel sitting on a work table, and began picking at it, but looked up when she heard footsteps.

"Hi, Star..." she glanced to the red gem. "..Let me guess...you broke the door again." Gold nodded sheepishly.
"Pyro wouldn't let us in." she complained.

Rhodonite rolled her eyes. "Ever thought of not kicking in the door? Jeez... I'll fix it in a bit."

Rhodonite turned back to give her a pointed stare as she pushed the up button on the elevator. "We literally have hundreds of Gems doing jobs just like yours. You'll be alright if you take some time off."

"And just go to the ground floor, there should be someone managing a desk down there. Tell them I sent you, they'll understand. Now did you want to come see your friend?"
Gold nodded in agreement to the second statement, then hurried to catch up...

A Moonstone poked her head up from behind the counter, eyeing Star with round white eyes. "Yes? Was there something you needed?"

She stared a moment longer. "Are you the Black Star Sapphire she told me about? The one that...never left work? She told me about you a while ago and to make sure I kept a room for you." she slid over a small piece of paper with a room number on it, and a passcode. "Here's the one I reserved for you. Just type in the code and it should let you in.~"

Pyro hissed as she heard the beeping outside to indicate someone was entering, and dove into one of the corners of the room furthest away from the door, and hid herself behind an end table. Housekeeping had already checked in here today...so who...
