so basically. mercutio is an utter failure in school and really awful at... everything... BUT he has intense magic-y, maybe prophetic dreams. it makes the room get all bright and weird noises can be heard.
ok so, mercutio's room has a sign that says "money room" on it, and only matty is allowed in. several students have joking theories about what's in the 'money room'... but what's relevant here is that the money room is soundproofed & stuff vvv

^^^ (like most swa rooms probably are). so like, normally, nobody would know about the dreams, but... mercutio forgets to close his door sometimes. amazing. so, a few weeks into the school year, matty & silph wake up to find the money room emitting bright blueish light and.. sparkly.... stuff. there's a lot of indescribable strange noises along with merc talking to somebody.
merc probably doesn't realize his dreams are *-magic-*, he just thinks he's a vivid dreamer or something.
also... he fell asleep in the waiting room while waiting to be interviewed by the SWA entrance interview people, so.. yeah.
this doesn't remind you of any characters from anything..... this idea is super original........ there is no war in ba sing se...........
