You cant have seven Pokemon in one party, but I like the fact that you included Gardevoir and Lucario. And you're 19? Yay! Finally, someone other than myself who didn't abandon Pokemon as soon as they became teens. I'm 15 and I still love Pokemon!
I actually have 8, there's a Butterfree hidden behind Blastoise. I think the series is great, even though I think they could have done better with Black&White. Anyway, what would be truely great would be a Skyrim-style Pokemon game. Especially for the Wii U.
Black and White the game? Or the anime? Both are great in my opinion. The games introduced 153 Pokemon, meaning they introduced the largest amount of Pokemon ever, even more than Red and Blue/Green. Sure some are kinda strange, but no one can look me eye and say that previous regions didn't have any strange Pokemon. Kanto had Grimer and Jynx, Johto had Dunsparce and Quilfish, Hoenn had Gulpin and Swalot, Sinnoh had Skun.tank and Purugly and now Unova has Garbodor and Vaniluxe. We gotta accept it. As for the anime, well I'll admit, Ash basically became a noob all over again because now he always chooses a Pokemon with a type disadvantage. And Pikachu forgot Volt Tackle, a move only Pikachu's evolutionary family can learn, for Electro Ball, a move that almost every Electric-type can learn. On the plus side, Ash has a new male companion, Cilan. Honestly I think Brock's time on the show was far too stretched, while Misty was cut from the show in the Advanced series. And I must note the lack of constant filler episodes. Ash already has his eighth badge as of the latest episode in Japan. Did I change your mind about your supposed 'lack of effort' on the new generation?
You bring up valid points, but I felt pokemon like Wubat and Stunfisk were rather unimaginative. The anime I had given up on since the third movie, but I always felt the games were better quality. Now the opposite is true of an old series called Digimon, which had a great show until the 5th season, but always had mediocre games. Don't worry though; I have very high hopes for Black/White 2.
Stunfisk is in my top thirty favorite Pokemon. The reason for this is that I thought it was quite funny in the anime. It zapped Ash and Oshawott then floated on the surface with that laughing expression on it's face. The anime provides more ways to experience Pokemon, other than staring at their game sprites during battles. When new games come out, theres always going to be that one new Pokemon that I'm not to crazy about. For me, that was Oshawott. I saw its artwork back in 2010 and was like 'not choosing that one'... but when I saw Oshawott in the anime, I immediately had a new favorite Pokemon. When Black and White came out, Oshawott was the first starter I chose. Why? Because the anime convinced me that this Pokemon was awesome, and it is. I really think you should give the anime a second chance.
I agree its impossible to simply play the games, only the anime comes of as stale with bad voice acting (come on, you've got to admit Team Rocket's voice acting has taken a turn for the worst). Instead, I find the manga's particularly well done. One of the older ones you could find lightly based on the early TV show is "The Electric Tale of Pikachu." I'm currently reading "Pokemon Special" and am taken with how epic it is. It's based more on the canon from the games than the anime and casts classic characters in original and unique roles. Out of something like 350 chapters, I'm on chapter 96 and am just getting into the Gold/Silver arc. Since you profess to know so much about the series, they are definatly worth your time. On a side note, a Skyrim-style Pokemon game based on the mangas would be amazing.
I'm not really a book worm. And The Electric Tale of Pikachu is based off the anime, so my motto is 'why read the book when I could just have the anime tell me the story for me'. I'm not saying I dislike any Pokemon Manga, in fact I own a couple copies of various mangas, it's just that the anime, in my opinion, is slightly better. On another note, what is your Pokemon Black/White friendcode? I would love to battle you. Mine is: zero four three three two two four nine eight six three four in Pokemon Black version and zero five one eight six five eight zero five zero eight one in Pokemon White version. We could also trade if you want. Post yours if you want to battle/trade.
dang do you two write ALOT!i must say, very well drawn.and 19?!?whoa! ive watched it since i was four, but unfourtunately,it was the battle frontier episodes. i then vaigly remember seeing kanto. im only 11 now, but im neva gonna get sick of pokemon. some of them may be kinda lame*cough*vanillite*cough* but i still like it.i think after unova though, they should stop the episodes.all great things have to come to an end though, right? .... im just sorta hopin it will have a rocketshippy scene at the end...hehehe. i say, the people who say that most people are too old for pokemob, need to go and die in a hole.
I think your choice of screen name is especially poetic here; you made a fine reference in naming youself after two of the lesser known members of Team Rocket.
