I figured out Selphie's backstory a little...her childhood/entire life has basically been really weird. Her parents were died some way while tryna escape from something while she was a baby. it was at that point that Raz attached itself to her and kept her alive until she was discovered by a pack of cannibals! They raised her for a year until they were discovered and sent to be executed. Then the father of one of their last victims, a priest, took her in. Selphie's considered a magnet for bad luck, bad things tend to happen to people around her. When we meet her in story, while her dad was away the people of the town she lived in try to burn her as a witch but Jabs and Effie stop them. u-u
