I perfectly understand what you mean, year ago I got lots of stars (for ya is probably a sh.it getting a goldstar but means a lot to me x'D) on sh.itty paintings. Now, I barely get 10 likes putting all my effort. Being disfollowed daily isn't helpful XDD It seems to be starting the end of this. Plus, lots of people are going to da :'<

I know posting this won't help to get back the old Colors and the people who left... but I want to talk about it.

yeah totally true, I was just saying it because a lot of friends of mine -who I've lost the contact currently- have moved to other sites, or just vanished. If you check the new paintings, there aren't many as there were anddd, if you remember, b4 there wasnt the follower thing and only could see new paintings. Including the follower thing has affected very bad, as, atm many people dont check the new paintings section (I include myself xD sorry) and only check their followers' paintings. Many artists cant be known bcuz of iet :p (in conclusion its harder for the ppl to see your paintings)

In my opinion, you or any well known artist that represents this website should create some sort of tag or sth like that to make people like us to check other artists' pics in order to get back to what colors was xD There are people with faith that colors will keep going fine as it did in 2013 ;v;

people also got bored of colors... and some other like the cartoon guy for exemple, left cuz they were being bullied...

I literally just got Colors a year ago..I'm not leaving anytime soon.

I've always been here. I still am here but I've always been a bit of a backgroud character on colors. I never say much because everyone was busy in their friend groups. I still love your art though and I still look and still like, so youre not that alone.

Idk about anyone else, but I've just.. Idk, lost motivation? Being on here feels like obligation, and I have this huge thing about that. Whenever I feel like I'm expected to do something, I instantly lose like, 95 percent of motivation to do it :') It doesn't really help that the only time my paintings get actual attention anymore is when I go all out and make something mind-blowingly realistic/epic, but that takes up all of my energy and patience. Plus, I've been finding it really hard to socialize anywhere anymore... I feel uncomfortable talking to people, and I don't really know why. So yeah, those are my reasons. Didn't realize I wasn't the only person being so inactive.. Sorry, sis 8w8

Well, I think I messed it up. All the drama that happened with me and Cookie kind of... darkened the place. But I know what you mean. People are leaving, and, in all honesty, I feel that I am, too.

People are just growing out of the colors community
Popular people move on to better tools and without them the community seems pretty empty even though there is a lot of people left
It's just that the popular people kinda held the community together and now that many of them are gone we are just forming small groups which makes the community seem really small
We just need new people to unite all of us again and colors will be almost like it was before

Of course it will never be the same without the same people but that happens and all of us are probably gonna say bye bye to colors someday

We just gotta live w/ that and move on and try to rebuild the community with what we've got

I find it was after the update. It set a big bar beetween the popular users and everyone else. Before when you upload a painting there was only two categories and everyone could see your painting, but after no one seeemed to notice. Because I don't think everyone checks new paintings anymore.

Il est vrai que c'est triste de voir que color ce déserte peut à peut mais moi qui suis là depuis septembre 2012 donc j'ai pu voir l'évolution.Après je comprend très bien ceux qui parte car ils sont là depuis longtemps donc ils sont lassé de color et puis peux être que certaines personnes ont évoluer dans leur vie,ils ont eu des enfants,ce sont marier ect... et donc ils n'ont plus le temps de venir sur color ce qui est tout à fait compréhensif.Le faite que aussi des dessinateurs n'est pas de "vrai ami ou soutien" sur color fait aussi que ces personnes s'en vont.Personnellement je pense qu'on peux rien y faire car sa ira certainement pas en s'améliorant...Enfin ceux qui reste doivent resté souder et ne pas être tente de partir même si un jour tous les anciens vont s'en aller : )

This -- Colors-- is going to end eventually. Not yet, it will last at least the lifespan of the 3DS. After that, likely not. And there's still plenty of good people here. It just feels unfamiliar now, as it's no longer a small thing (at least, not like it was). And the reason it seems to have slowed down is because it did; the hype went down, now there are only us who really enjoy this application itself.

Better to spend time enjoying it now as it is than wasting time lamenting the fact it's a little different now.

Also, for another art site, maybe try Pixiv.net. It's not like DA, not a bunch of photos and cosplays, it's like 9Opercent drawings. It's mostly Japanese users, but it supports/works very well with the 3DS (at least the New 3DS), and the important stuff's all english. Once you learn the tags to your favorite stuff (and searching something really popular will have it auto-search in both Japanese and English

tags, regardless of what you typed in, like searching "Nintendo" will auto-seaech the Japanese word for Nintendo, too, so you miss nothing. I like it, at least. Lots of anime style art, as you'd expect. XD

Et certainement que le fait que Colors mette moins en valeur l'aspect "partage et découverte" y est pour quelque chose aussi.
Mais dans ce cas, nous devrions en parler directement à Colors ! D'accord, ce sont surtout nous qui font vivre le site, mais si Colors y mettait un peu du sien, comme proposer un peu plus de nouveautés, ou de mettre en valeur les bons artistes, ca aiderait vraiment ! Du moins, c'est ce que je pense.

I'm not as into colors as I used to be, and a lot of what you're interested now doesn't interest me. I love your art and you're a great person, don't get me wrong. I've noticed this too! I'm following 77 people and I only got 2 new pics in my feed. A year and a half ago, I followed about 18 people and I got 5-10 pics a day. What happened? Everyone claims they're 'depressed' or 'bored.' They leave because everyone else is leaving, so they feel they should too. That only makes it worse. If people are complaining that too many people are leaving and then they leave, they're only making it worse! I don't understand, and I'm glad that there's still a //few// people who are active... I used to gain followers quickly, but now I'm stuck at 182. Hasn't budged in a loooonnnggg time. I don't understand, so I feel you. #ColorsLogic

It is the call of life. People must eventually move on with their lives. I can no longer be on because I simply have a life and am in college. As sad as it is... We eventually need to move on and spread our artist wings farther, then just on this site.

Some people were saying about helping new people, but every "save Colors" post always tells people to follow the guy with hundreds of followers who obviously doesn't need them at this point of their success. If we want Colors to big again, we should help the no-names like me so that we can have a stronger community of way more diverse art like back in 2012-2013.

I left because Colors is dead. And that i started drawing on paper and uploading my pics on Instagram. Thats when i realized that I'm not meant to be a digital artist. And I have a life in high school. I just started and it's so much fun! So yeah sorry... :(

I don't draw as often anymore but I do check and comment on all the wonderful art from the people I follow.
