(cont.)...Harley found her soul wandering dangerously close to the border between dreams and the afterlife, and dragged her into the afterlife for reasons im not gonna say yet. He thought she seemed familiar, so he made a deal. He'd help her wake up safely if she would allow him to come with (dont ask how that works its complicated) and now the two travel together.

Harley bought her a striped scarf when she got cold, which miraculously happened to be posessed by Motto, another demon. He wanted to travel like his cousin, Swindel (astrid's choker demon), so he made a deal with Rave. She was to wear the scarf, and he'll provide protection by ripping threatening forces to shreds. mostly she uses him as a friend to blab about nonsense to, though.
