Sad pictures are normally blue, so I wanted to see if I could make a sad yellow picture. Mission accomplished, but I guess I cheated by making it so dark.
Maybe I'll try a sad pink picture next.

It rlly just depends how the characters within said environment react to other things within the environment.
Like a white room with a person in the middle crying.
Even though the room is a very bright shade, it conveys a feeling centered around the figure.
So rlly use any color u want.
Put a sad character and someones gonna cry. lol.
