I mostly use them to help the other person reading be able to understand the tone of voice or expression I'm trying to communicate.
Also do you watch youtubers on youtube?
I'm not super into popular youtubers, Pewdiepie is funny but I don't watch him a lot. I really like Jacksepticeye though.
Obviously I get distracted easily because I jump around to random conversation topics. xD
